Hey lets fix the fact that MCs and Synapse creatures actually have some form of weakness while continuing to lay the nerf bat on vehicles every time we can. That sounds like a fantastic idea! Ooooh, let us read ever codex literally and then one bitches let us fix their 'dex and no other! Yippee! What an extravagantly good idea!
Seriously, my gripe isn't with synapse. My gripe is that a Land Raider or Leman Russ can be opened like a tin can in one shot where a Carnifex can withstand a withering amount of fire for the same points cost. And now that still applies to things like Warriors, Lictors and the like. I don't mind Synapse being tough. I mind them being tougher than BATTLE TANKS.
Fix vehicles please so that I don't have to cry myself asleep comparing a dreadnought to a carnifex.
Why is it OK to pop an Obliterator in one shot but not a Zoanthrope? Hell, why do I have to pay 35 points to protect one IC from such siliness where the entire Nid army can basically be under it's protection for such a minimal cost it might as well be considered free? Synapse is just wrong. I'd have no problem with gaunts and their ilk acting normally if it didn't hand down a rediculously strong set of rules to the entire Tyranid army for ludicrously low points cost.

Why bring this complaint to this area? I think Imperial guard would be more sympathetic to your cause.Originally Posted by Darguth

Because I'm not looking for sympathy, I'm looking for an intelligent counter-argument. I figure that the Tyranids would have a better opposing few than my Imperial brethren.Originally Posted by Pookie
Well lets see your vehicles are immune to all small arms fire basically and if your really lucky your tanks could survive the entire game even if you get pentrating hits on it every turn (though not likely and just as likely to die on the first turn thats the price you pay).
Now TMC can actually be hurt by small arms fire. As a matter of fact that is sometimes the main thing that hurts some of my bigger guys (had a gun drone running away shot at my HT who had been shot at by 3 broadsides and they all miss even on TL roll the bloodly little thing hits, wounds, and BAM my HT gets wounded...). So TMC can be killed via small arms fire if you roll bad enough while leman russes and land raider can never be hurt.
Plus not sure but Carnifexs can hurt LR and LR or can get unlucky as well. I have had all my carnifexs miss all their shots in a single turn. So its all apart of the game and how you roll.
Is it me or does any other necron player get annoyed when they see people saying "Necrons eat souls". How is that even possible as souls are part of the warp and necrons want nothing to do with it? Eh probaly me just me being picky.

Well i guess you bring up an interesting arguement I'll attack it in 3 formsOriginally Posted by Darguth
Fluff: You shoot a computer it stops working it really doesn't matter where as long as you hit the mother board/hardrive its good game to the computer. You shoot a human they can live through it yes not if you shoot them in hte head or heart but everywhere else they can. Basically the idea behind instant death is that the weapon is so horrific that any injury sustained would cripple a human being, Tyranids are different they're like zombies under the control of the hive mind like in the movies you shoot a zombie in the head it keeps coming etc.... Also who says that a tyranids brains are in its head? It might be like a cockroach and have brains scatter through out its body and the impalpable control of the hive mind drives it forwards.
Lets all play SM: If you don't want diversity, go play warhammer. 40k's armies are all radically different and therefore it makes it much harder to balance having said that it is balanced and I personally enjoy the fact that each army is a different style with different tactics... complaining that you don't get one power is like asking for an assault cannon, its the best gun in the game why can't everyone take it?? Because its a space marine gun, eldar have scatter lasers, tyranids have synpase, IG have a ___ Large blaster marker ordanance. everyone's different
Finally Balance: Tyranids have a horrible time taking out tanks, our best weapons are either 18" range or can only glance armour 14, so if i spend a turn shooting at your tank with my carnifex there is a small chance 50% that i might glance the armour so every second turn most likely you won't get to fire, I might get lucky and pop you. Tyranids have a terrible time at killing tanks on the other hand you shoot a Lascannon at a carnifex 8 times outa 9 it takes a wound sure it may require four of those shots but if I recall correctly IG get a lot of lascannons. So you can't instant kill zoan thropes, at __ points each they are the more expensive than a terminator who has better range on his guns better balistic skill and is better is close combat, they also can get a better gun for 5 pts more in the assault cannon, so they made the zoanthrope more survivable. Its an attempt to balance the game. You wanna cry about our toughness four creatures being more survivable go ahead but jsut remember we have to run across the battle field surviivng 2-3 rounds of shooting before we do any damage, maybe having a bit of survivability makes the game jsut a little bit even.
If you think synapse is cheap and over powered write in to games workshop, but honestly I hope my reply gave you some perspective, yes its good no its not overpowered it helps the tyranids be who they are not a SM clone. There are far better things to cry for than synapse like a decent gun on you tank killing carnifex, or a Lictor that doesn't cost __ points and dies to a squad of IG.

Hell yes. well said brother. :ninja:
Tyranids: 2500 pts
Imperial Guard: 1000 pts
Witch Hunters: 1000 pts
Canifexus and Macewind hit the nail on the head.
Carnifexus, you're wrong about anti tank. Tyranids best weapon is 36". A Venom Cannon on a Carnifex does wonders for blowing up tanks. Even DSing Bio-Acid Spore Mines can pop a Land Raider.
That's what I love about nids. There's a solution for everything, just not usually where you or the enemy are expecting it to be.Originally Posted by [Black] Katalyst
