Once again, I have to extoll the virtues of shoota boyz: a mob of 20 today single-handedly mowed down a squad of CSM bikers. There's nothing like a hail of 40 shots, plus 9 from big shootas, to put a hurt on an enemy when the dice are hot.
Waldo_Pepper Sounds like a Good un, Mowin down dem weedy Spiky Beakies....give em a kick after ya fill em full of dakka too.
Nothing wrong with shoota boyz, so long as you take alot of em...
WAAAGH! Da Shootas
"Da Orks is da best cuz we ar ded ard an killy, mean, green, krumpin machines, hav da most dakka, da stompiest dreads, da shootiest gunz, da biggest bosses, an we uze choppas...WAAAGH!"
The more I play orks, the more I'm convinced that it's the simple core units that make the big difference: Lootas, flash gitz, looted vehicles all might help at times, but virtually every game is decided based on the performance of just a few of my core units: Warboss & his boyz, my slugga boyz, and my shootaz. The grots always die but I have never regretted playing 90 points for a mob of the buggers. I rarely see any of my more expensive units, including dreadnoughts, actually kill their points worth in a battle. I'm starting to think I need to become a Goff.
