12 fire warriors
Shas'ui Team Leader
2 Marker Drones
If both Marker Drones hit this gives you BS 5 Fire Warriors. Questions, comments, thoughts?
p.s. I don't remember seeing anything about a limit on Marker Drones per unit. I hope I am right.

I don't think marker light hits can be used by the unit that has fired them. Something about everyone shooting at nearly the same time so there wouldn't be enough time to use the marker lights properly. So you will have to get your markerlight hits from a different unit.
Moving at all will mean no shooting the MLs. So disembarking from a devilfish to perform the almighty FOF tactic means points wasted. But if you are more of a static player the markerlights will be more effective.
Hitting on 2+ would be nice, rapid firing and hitting on 2+ would be even nicer!

Marker Drones have the networked markerlight which can be used by their own unit. That's why they are a somewhat high 30 points each.
I think this is actually a tough one. On the one hand bs5 for a firewarrior unit would be good, especially if you are at or around their 30" range (at rapid fire range you should have so many shots that the bs 5 would just be overkill). However, on the other hand, I am a huge fan of using marker lights on whichever unit will do the most damage, wether that be a crisis suit with plasma or a broadside. I also generally don't like my firewarriors to be completely static and giving the drones to the firewarriors does just that.
My preference would be giving marker drones to a unit of pathfinders. since they will most likely be more of a static unit so that they can use their own markerlights. A full unit of them gives you 10 markerlight shots a turn (7 if you take the 3 rail rifles). It costs a bit of points, but usually with that many markerlights can make those points back by second or third turn at the latest.
I do want it noted however that giving marker drones to crisis suits or stealths is a complete waste of time. You need to stay mobile with those suit types, but stand still for the marker drones. It's just not worth it. Though marker drones for a unit of broadsides could be nasty....:shifty:
Sacrilege? Now sacrilege is next year when Lysander will be joining my Sons of Malal chaos army. that should be real fun.
I don't know, three stealths with drone controllers and two marker drones each, while points intensive (270) doesn't seem like a bad proposition. Six markerlight shots, but the real advantage is the inability of enemy units to target them. And if they focus time and energy to get rid of that unit then it can just jump away. You'll lose some markerlight shots, but whatever.
I've never done this, but I was seriously considering it. Any thoughts?

For 60 pts what do you really get? Two markerlights with a 50% chance of hitting, and two wounds. So you really only get about 1 marker hit a turn for the cost of 6 firewarriors. I could see using 1 marker drone in a static list as it wouldn't be too much of a point sink and markerlights can do alot more than just pump up BS.
As for using it on suits, I've seen some pretty good arguements for using a stealth team as a stand in for pathfinders making use of both the team leaders markerlight and adding drone controllers with 1-2 marker drones per suit. You basically get a pathfinder team with a stealth field that can infiltrate and after you factor in the devilfish, there isn't much of a piont difference either.

Marker Drones should only be used on units that are going to spend most of the game staying put, or vehicles. IMHO anyway.
I never considered those expensive marker drones to be worth it either. Now that I think about it tho, a full pathfinder squad (with transport) works out to ~22 pts per markerlight. But even if the costs were even I would take pathfinders instead.
It's much too expensive for a unit with such weak firepower, low ap values and poor survivability. Don't bother.

Ask yourself why in the world would you trust a win loss record? Playing them yourself is the only way to tell.
The true joy in the game is playing down to the last model, no matter the odds.
