well the title says it all i would throw my hands in there air and whoop at the new codex but... gw did it again first they take away my squats and now ulthwe' :cry:
i like eldar they are my favorite army and while they may not have been the ones to get me into the hobby they are certainly responsible for keeping me in it so it is with a heavy heart that i consider hanging up the witch blade and retiring the tried and true ghosthelm
my beefs are as followed
defenders must take a weapon i like the squad increase it means no more meat sheilds (yay) but i liked the option to save a few points by leaving the grav platform behind
no black guardians in any shape or form i mean come on every other craftworld got to keep the means to re-create themselves in the new dex why'd the gimp ulthwe' ?

i suppose the only other is no augment but i think that falls into the seer council category
now to the purpose of this seemingly whiney rant i wish to know what other veteran ulthwe' players are doing to overcome these problems if they can at all cuz i know the varient listswere all scraped and i'm at a loss i don't really want to give up space elves but at the same time i'm too hardcore ishian to switch over to khaine now...

A method I've been toying with:
This is good enough for me.
- Farseers are 1+
- Warlocks are 2+
- Guardian Squads are 2+
- 1 Aspect warrior squad for each Guardian squad
- Wraithguard MUST have a Warlock.
Post your army lists in the ARMY LIST section! Not that hard!

Thing is, you can still field two farseers and five warlocks just in two squads with the same affect as before.
Same with sam hann, they aint been nurfed that much,
Only real nerfing is Beil Tan and Iyanden, hey you never know, they might out a supplement.
Biel-Tan can be done by using all three Elite slots, using Dire Avengers as Troops, then using your Fast Attack/Heavy Support slots with other Aspect Warriors.
Iyanden can use a few Guardians or Dire Avengers, then fill up on the Heavy Support and Elites with Wraithstuff.
Iyanden can still have their units of wraithguard in troops slots, (though they're out of luck for their 6 heavy support), and Biel-Tan can kind of be done, though it's nothing like what it was before (the reason I did Biel-Tan was that I didn't like DA or Guardians).
But it's funny the first time I ever got to see the codex myself there were two other Eldar players there. One was whining about how the eldar were nerfed and would never win another game and the other was talking about how the eldar were broken and were never going to be almost unbeatable. I just politely agreed with both of them.
The only changes that really bother me are the loss of the craftworlds, though slowly I'm convincing myself that our troops are okay, and the little kind of sucker punches that don't do ALOT, but do enough.
For example I don't like the Striking Scorpion exarch in a power fist not having the same strength as a marine in a power fist. It makes the versatility of the squad greatly reduced while at the same time making it better at killing infantry.
Everything I have told you, even this, is a lie.
Now that I think about it, what are the Tank Hunting CC units for the Eldar list?
