I was looking through the Codex and I've realised something. The platform rule describtion on page 39 no longer says anything about them stopping Gaurdians from using Fleet of Foot when present in the squad. I've not seen this point mentioned thus far on the forums....nor has it been said as a new plus for Gaurdians. If this is true then Gaurdians are quite worth while as it gives them a little more mobility...and Scatter Laser Gaurdians will probably have a nice solid consideration in my future lists.
I don't think they do, however, which is better: moving an extra 6" (at best) or firing 4 S6 shots?
Gareth is the person I try to impress when I convert and paint.

Yes, you can fleet with a platform. You can even load up the platform in a wave serpent.
Does this make them worthwhile? That depends on your play style.
Dashing into cover can be very beneficial, especially if your starting point leaves you without LoS.
Scatter lasers are probably going to be standard issue on most guardian squads. Increased Rate of Fire, respectable range, and impressive strength, coupled with their relatively inexpensive points cost.

I have been saying guardian we should be allowed to FoF with weapon platforms since dawn of war was released. The weapons platform in the computer game has an ability called shroud. This ability allows the platforms to move much quicker but decreases their accuracy. That’s awesome games workshop put this idea into 40k tabletop by allowing guardians with platforms to FoF! Maybe there is still a place in my army for my recently retired guardians.

Woo.. fleeting platforms.
On a side note.. How about the shuriken cannon as a guardian weapon? True, it's short range, but it looks incredibly cheap to me..
I would prefer to have a unit of jetbikes with shuriken cannon... the only drawback is deployment, but only if you are playing escalation games.Originally Posted by The_Giant_Mantis
This above all; to thine own self be true.
For only 10pts difference I think I would much rather have a scatter laser, Gaurdians arn't all that expensive anyway and getting an extra shot with extended range will probably prove useful....since gaurdians themselves have a rather poor save and average Ballistic skill.Originally Posted by The_Giant_Mantis
Keep on saying to yourself:
"The old codex never existed, the old codex never existed."
If you can't find it in the new codex, it's no longer a rule. Forget everything you knew - it no longer applies.
