Pint them. I can't emphasise that enough. The number of gaunts involved means that if you don't paint them staright away, they just start to pile up while you work on the good stuff.

I hope your army is the colour of a spray-paint. My horde is dark angles green with lighter green (DA mixed with bleached bone and a spot of tentacle pink) for the armour, goblin green highlights.

8 colours a model sounds daunting, but it looks good if you put the time in.

I would suggest tyrant guards and stealers first.. though it's much better to buy the battle force, since that was what I did...

I'm using the standard color theme myself.. can be found in the codex... it's awesome!

More gaunts, some warriors, a carnifex and biovores should be your next models. Eventually you can add zoanthropes or gargoyles, but these aren't necessary (especially garoyles are great though). You will probably have a good amounth of rippers then, field these too. Leaping ripper swarm mutants with rending claws rock!

At 2000 or more points there is an option to use two force organisation charts, basically you play two armies which are allied. In this case you can have up to six biovores - but remember, your opponent also can field six whirlwinds...

Or play guard and have 6 basalisks.

Or tau and have 6 hammerheads.

Whatever army you play, it got good stuff.
