1 Falcon w/
3 Vyper w/
Basically, they are both around the same points cost, so I wanted to know if there were any 'hidden' benefits to using one of these two over the other.

I am leaning towards the Vypers, just because of those numbers.

Gareth is the person I try to impress when I convert and paint.
Vypers Just because they kill more, and have more in a squadron. (Falcon is still my favorite tank though.)
Remember that the falcon has greater staying power than the vypers... any strenght 6 weapon will make mince-meat out of them! (and you forgot the stones on the vypers!)
- Just love that maki! -
I'd go for the Falcon. Simply for the survivability. A Bolter can drop a Vyper at the same range that the vyper can use it's Shuriken Cannon. Can't say the same for the Falcon.
70pts for something that can be taken down by a 15pt model doesn't seem like a hot choice to me.

Sure vypers have a much higher damage output. And if you want to spend a turn killing something go with vypers.
However, that's all you will get. One turn. Because Vypers will be blown into oblivion the instant they show themselves. Taking advantage of cover will mitigate this, in so much as you can block line of sight to some of your opponent's heavy weaponry. Or have the vehicles count as obscured, reducing pen hits to glancing.....wait...oh yeah; They are FAST SKIMMERS!
Vypers are fine if your opponent needs to train his heavy weapons elsewhere. Except that he won't need his heavy weapons to drop them. Bolter fire will reduce them to smouldering wrecks, and anything with a Str of 5 or better hurts them in their soul.
Falcon has a much higher survivability than the vypers (Try using a bolter or heavy bolter against it and see what happens ) And because of that survivability, it will be able to make a nuiscance of itself for a much longer period of time (Especially given the upgrades chosen for your 'comparative analysis').
You have to look at what else is available in terms of your army composition, historical patterns of your opponent's army lists, average quantity of terrain available for use.
Nothing works in a vacuum. I don't care what army you play. Nothing works in a vacuum.
