Welcome to Librarium Online!
Ok, this is something that has bothered me. When I bought the models for Farseers and Warlocks (not the new boxed set, although they may have this same problem) I was confused because the codex said that a singing spear was a two-handed weapon and yet the Farseers I had bought had what looked to be a spear in one hand and a shuriken pistol in the other. He was holding it as a close combat troop would for +1 Attack. And I thought it wierd to have a pistol and a singing spear because you can only use one (although in the new codex, the Farseer just comes with a pistol as standard) And then there were lots of Warlock models that had it holding a sword with two hands (which must have been a witchblade because it was not a spear). My understanding of the rules is that there is nothing preventing a Warlock or Farseer from using a witchblade and a pistol to get an extra attack. So why aren't any of then modeled correctly? Am I missing something? If you don't have the models, look on the GW Online Store.
"We await the return of the gods as Dyannartan waited for Isha. We die for the Eldar as Dyannartan died for the Eldar. Her deeds in the face of The Great Enemy will ne'er be forgotten as long as we draw breath. Her patience and sacrifice are the devotion of the Protected Ones; the Dael-Durien."
Models can carry a one-handed weapon and a two-handed one at the same time, they just can't USE both at the same time. So he's holding the staff while he takes pistol shots...he'll drop or holster the pistol when he goes into close combat. (and not get the +1 A for it)
I think they're modelled that way mainly to look good. Nothing a little bit of customization can't fix. For Warlocks, I would just stick the pistol to a hoster o the belt or something. Or try and make a shuri-witch-pistol-blade hybrid. :w00t:
And just to verify your points, the Singing Spear is a 2H weapon which means no +1A for attack, but the pistol can still be used when not in combat (I assume). The Warlocks do get +1A for two weapons.
For the third time in an hour: Welcome to LO! We hope you enjoy your stay. The emergency exits are here, here and here.
Next time can you paragraph your post. Thanks.
EDIT: And what Zagref said.
