ok i have proxy tested and i like ard boyz
now im trying to actually place them in my army
i have found some models that i really like for them
warhmer black orks with two weapons
obviouly i need to remove a weapon and add a slugga
but the box set cost 45 bucks and only comes with 10 metal orks
thats a little to xpensive for me
does anyone know of some alternative models i can use that looks as good
or even some sort of good conversion
Take the armored ork torsos from a box of boyz. Now pair that with legs that have boots. Put on two shoulder pads, a helmeted head, and a gob. Paint the metal more brightly that most ork metal (overbrush of a bright metal) so it's more prominent, and ta-da! From boyz to ard boyz.
Chief Inspector Dreyfus: Are you wounded?
Clouseau: No. Fortunately I was saved by the darkness.
Chief Inspector Dreyfus: So what we need is more light.
Also, mr_smoke, please take better care of your spelling and grammer.
You can also combine space marine shoulder pads onto orks to represent Ard boys. Plenty of players do that and its perfectly acceptable. I like the look of the chaos ones personally, also just add in some of the spikey bits from the main ork box and your set. The ork box can be used to make most of your troop/elite selections.
40K-Beakies(9-14-4),Guard(4-7-2),Orks(34-12-11). FANTASY-Dwarves(15-6-7),Beasts (14-14-1), Skaven (17-17-10) DoC (6-1-2). CYGNAR (28-15-1)
Plastic Chaos Space Marines, or Chaos Knights (WH Fantasy) can look good if you stick an ork head and weapons on them. They come in boxes of 16 like the orks and are suitably primitive looking, covered in chains, skulls and suchlike. A box of them mixed with a box of boys gives you up to 32 ardboys (though you might need a few extra heads from somewhere) that look as if they have been looting marine bodies or suchlike.
Or you could order the black ork heads separately and glue them and some shoulderpads onto ordinary boys.
If you drop a shell on your foot an it don't urt, your shoota aint big enough!
Just get the heads of black orks and make an ork like normal replacing the head with the black ork on and add spikes, armour and other orky things.
By now, the new Black Orc plastics are out for WHFB.
In true GW style, they are not showing the bitz breakdown... but you get a few each of two-hander ords and two-weapon orcs, and plenty of big armor and weapons to simply add a slugga or somethign without much conversion work.
