Doom is an excellent power indeed when put to use against infantry but how does it fair against vechicles? The codex only specifies re-rolling to wound but what of targets that have an armour value? Am I not able to grant my squads the benefit of better penetrating armoured units or is this an accidental miss out by the codex writers? Personally I would say no as it does not specify anything towards vehicles but there is doubt inside me which you people may beable to shed for me. As for this doubt I keep thinking that it is a case of bad wording.

Anyways I'll take this oppitunity to ask another question, one which may prove a little more difficult to answer.
Space Marine Attack bikes are always able to fire their heavy weapons even if they move 12" and regular bikes never count as moving when firing rapid fire weapons. In the case of jetbikes do they function the same way (Can't remember if the Shuriken Cannon from the old codex was heavy 3 and I share a Rule book with friends which I don't have access to at the moment)
Saying that the above is true would it be possible to give an Autarch a Reaper Launcher and act as a fast long ranged supporter? Even if the idea isn't that potent it's a choice I wonder weather if possible or not, can prove very useful in a combination with regular Gaurdian Jetbikes than the common thought of Shining Spears.
Points for kills it would depend highly on who you were fighting. Against Tau he would have ample oppitunity to out range and terminate their battlesuits a few at a time while beating their speed, against Tyrannides he could knock out some synapse creatures but against armies like Space Marines and Sisters of Battle there really isn't much there as he'd kill one or two a turn...not really effecting the battle that much, although it could prove really annoying against those small heavy weapon squads.
Thanks for the help though
Hehehe... Yeah, me and a friend created the ultimate autarch with bike, laser lance and reaper launcher, but no, you can't do that. Its only the bike mounted weapons that count as stable platforms, but if he buys a reaper launcher, he's carrying it, not the bike, so he'll be moving, so he can't shoot. Check the rulebook.

Actually no, there have been lots of discussions about this floating about, and although the general concensus is that this may have been something GW overlooked, going by the rules as written heavy weapons dont need to be mounted on the bike to be able to move and fire. Re-read the rules for bikes and shooting and you'll see, they mention rapid-fire weapons, but the rule is different for heavy weapons. Most people think this is simply an oversight, so it is really down to your own judgement as to whether this is an intended rule, or a mistake. As for the Shuriken Cannon, that is allowed to move and shoot as it's an assault weapon. Platform mounted Eldar Heavy weapons also get round this by becoming assault weapons when used in this way, and the old Shining Spear Exarch could get away with his Birght Lance as it too was an assault weapon in the last codex.
And many more little blighters...
We need to get ruling/consensus on this. If only because the reaper&bike autarch is a combo that could do a lot.... I'm think Tau battlesuit and SM Assault squad hunting here.
I was thinking of doing the same thing. This is kind of like that controversy over the third edition Chaos coex when a Chaos lord could take a doom siren and powerfist and, the way the rules for the siren were worded in the codex, the powerfist could strike first. GW really needs to release that FAQ.
