    Tons of battlesuits

    I was thinking about starting a tau army. And i wanted to use a ton of battle suits. is this possible and/or effective? what does one look like?

    Or you can run the Farsight Death-bomb list with 20 suits (Farsight w/7 Bodyguard, Shas'O w/2 bodyguard, and 3 units of 3 suits each), and then you could even add a couple of XV-88s for fun.

    I also run a list with tons of points sunk into suits. It's extremely effective against marine equivalents and still very effective against other lists due to mobility.

    The only things it's weak to are things suits are weak to, notably masses of troops that can 12" move then 6" charge (which can catch up to them, negating JSJ), and barrage weapons which are often template based and don't need line of sight (so no JSJ). If these types of armies aren't prevalent in your area then you're in good shape.

    Yeah, Im kind of fearing the nid invasion in an upcoming tourney game I shall be playing. I think they will munch on a few or all of my men! :cry:

    Or you can do what my friend does, I called him cheap for pulling this off against me though.

    1 HQ suits, 3 squads full of 3 suits, 6 firewarriors, 10 kroots, 2 hammerheads in a 1000pt game.. I was playing his Chaos and he was playing my Tau, he wanted to make a point that Tau is very 'powerful' if played 'properly'. haha..... sigh.. :x

    yeah those sound totally brutal.
    against jump pack/ bikers/ gaunts concentratefire on these units as slower units are less of a threat

    If you really want to make your opponent panic, nothing beats a 6-pack of broadsides! The list was a lot scarier at higher points, but after whitlling it down a bit, it would look something like this:

    2 Each, BS4 fireknife HQs

    Shas'El, Plas,Missile, Fusion, hwmt
    bodyguard: plas, missile, targetarray, hwmt
    bodyguard: plas, missile, targetarray, hwmt

    6 broadsides in 1500 is way, waaay too weak to infiltrators, especially jump troops or assassins.
