Welcome to Librarium Online!
This week I will play Tau and Chaos and I'm looking for advice on how to beat them.
The Tau player likes to marker light everything and just blast away will his large fire base.Would deep striking sacrabs on top of the fire warriors be enough to do a lot of damage?Or should I use the sacrabs to take on his hammer head and other fish?
I know that the Chaos player will field a pimped out points sink demoned prince and a defiler and Raptors. I fear the raptors the most because they are as good as seriphum and they kick my a** in my last battle so how would I handle them speed Bump with sacrabs?
For Tau,use scarabs, wraiths, flayed ones to tie up there guns frist of all. Us the viel of darkness was it?.... use that to get your lord and the biggest, baddest squad you can find and wreck havoc. Making the enemy tanks an objective, cuz they will destroy your monolith.
For Choas, Pariahs and a pimped out lord will be the only things that will be able to challenge the Prince, also if you can sneack a few, hundred shots at the prince, that would help too. Give your scarabs disruption fields and send the little buggers on a sucide mission towards the defiler. Make no mistake, the defiler's battle cannon will be fatal to your warroirs.
thats all i got, hope this helps
For the Demon Prince I would suggest hvy destroyers because they will force the invulnerable save. I've tried phariahs before and their low intialive kills them against the demon prince. If you play against Khorne take a lith and stick it infront of the prince, he cant hurt it and if he keeps frenzying he will have to keep attacking it
OK, the daemon prince should be felled with many many shots from destroyers or immortals. You have enough shots to make him lose those armour saves. Engaging him in CC is very risky. he's a monstrous creature, so if you have any heavy destroyers - there's a target for you.
Defilers should be countered with scarabs. Naturally these scarabs have disruption fields. Remember, your aim is to stop it using the battle cannon. you'll probably destroy it though with that many attacks from the little guys
Raptors - are hideously expensive. a unit which is fear worthy costs well about 270-300 points. They can fly and kickass and make great pancakes, but guess what? They die just like average joe Marine. So, simply treat them like normal marines, and victimise them because they're really expensive.
Basically, with Chaos you have to stay ahead of the game. Chaos are difficult to use as a manoeuvrable race, so once you shut raptors down , use veils and jetbike movement and deepstriking to out manouvre them and flay them at your leisure.
