a battle force
all the tyranids from BfM
now what, should i use the 3 warriors for my hq or get a broodlord
btw this will be a 1000 points list
i have been thinking of ravenders, or should i go with gargoyals.
Im not sure what you get in the macrage set. However i think u need some more synapse either way. A broodlord would be a nice choice. Plus the model is the second best looking in the tyranid army IMO.
Have u considered a zoanthrope or two? They can add some antitank and give you synapse coverage.
But the necessity is more synapse creatures, other than that its just preference. Raveners and gargoyals i would steer clear of in such a low point list though. Plus they can be pretty pricey as far as models go.
the bfm comes with 10 gaunts with guns
As said already, you'll likely need additional sources of Synapse. One brood of Warriors is inadequate as Synapse coverage for any non-trivial amount of Gaunts.
More Warriors can help if you want to field Warriors at all (I think multiple Warrior Broods are better than just one easily killed brood). Zoanthropes are not that expensive in 1000pts.
A Broodlord can help, but is also a fire magnet... however, he can help get Gaunts up into the fight a little faster, especially if you use Hormagaunts
I, myself, would probably take a Broodlord if I were going to field Hormagaunts at all in 1000pts... but I'd take Zoanthropes and/or Warriors, otherwise.
As for Raveners versus Gargoyles...
Raveners are fine as melee support for Gaunts, but they take some finesse to use. Gargoyles get stupidly expensive in terms of real money to field a brood that has reasonable hitting power... so unless you can convert a lot of Gargoyles yourself, just stick to Raveners in your Fast Attack slots. Raveners are inexpensive in real money compared to their points cost & battle-effectiveness, especially compared to Gargoyles' cost in real money figures. Single broods of one lone Ravener can help make your Gaunts more effective.

yeah i will get a broodlord and some ravenders. and maybe some more warriors. that might be around 1000 points. will chek codex.
If you're going 1000 points a Hive Tyrant is a great upgrade, he gives you more synapse, and you can take psychic powers with him, almost making me a 'thrope. As for synapse another warrior brood will be ideal. However that Carnifex in the battle box shouldn't be CC oriented, shooting points wise is a much better option and helps the carnifex make his points back. Genestealers are your friend, they tear up anything and most players recognize the danger they present when they deploy. Good luck.

I really think armies shouldn't have just one monsterous creature. It is a lot like when you are playing against the Imperial guard or Space marines and they bring just one tank. You pop it right away and then their army is missing something they were counting on. Saying that, I think you need a tyrant before you get a broodlord if you are playing with a carnifex already. It just gives your opponent two hard targets to take down instead of one, and makes both last much longer.
Of the things you listed, I think raveners are your best purchase until you get more fast synapse. If you have synapse to stay with gargoyles I like them better, but I feel like they are much more synapse dependent even though their leadership is the same.
My vote would be for a Hive Tyrant. Two TMC's in 1000pts. will be much more effective than one IMO. The Carnifex will be targeted by every heavy weapon in your opponenets army if he is alone. Zoanthropes are also a good idea for tank busting along with the carni. I try to have at least 2 units for each job in my army(cc, tanks, synapse) that way if one is lost you still hae a way of dealing with the threat. I would go for the Tyrant as he would fill 3 different roles for your army at once(synapse, TMC, and tank/cc depending on the configuration).
you need Synapse, that's clear right from the start. I'd advice to take a HT with double Venomcannon, wich gives you 6 shots of Str 8, making you mare than able to deal with any tanks on the field. Do give it Toxin Sacs, enhanced Sences and probably the Psychic scream, so you can better prevent little guys ganging up the HT to prvent it from shooting.
Maybe you could give him 2 Tyrantguard, because this only Monstrous Critter is likely to attract a lot of fire.
With a bit of luck, you didn't use the Venom Cannon from you warriors, so you would have everything you need for you HT.
