Hello everyone. I'm a pretty new player with most of my experience in 40k being chaos marines. I recently got the new eldar codex and am looking forward to playing my first list. I do have a few questions though. For instance, does the wraithlord or asurmen count as having two weapons for close combat purposes? is the executioner that maugan ra has built into his weapon the same as the howling banshee exarch weapon? Also, I'm interested in the Il Kaithe, but I cannot find any fluff on them. Any help on any of these things would be appreciated.
1. Waithlord does not. They effectively "neutered" him of an attack in this codex.
2. Asurmen has shuri'cats so I'd say no.
3.Yes, its the same as the other executioner
4. I'm not aware of any fluff for Il Kaithe, others may know of some.
Il Kanthe -
Historically, the introduction of craftworlds into Fluff by GW resulted in the main 5:
Whilst it was alwayst eh case that there were others and you could create your own, no details were given.
The latest codex includes some other samples (Il Kanthe being one of about 6 or so) these are all new, no fluff, no details other than the star map and the bit in the painted models section, with the following two exceptions:
Altansar- appeared as the homeworld of Morgan Ra and got some publicity during Eye of terror campaign (13th black crusade) - not much tho, the bulk is pretty much synopsised in the latest codex
Yme-Loc- featured on the star map of the last Eldar codex, but without details, just location and date
Everything you have been told is a lie!
thanks for the answers folks. If I may, I would like to ask a few more questions. For one, why do some of the more powerful character types have ballistic skill ratings higher than 5. Is there any benefit to it? My understanding is that a ballistic skill higher than 5 doesn't do anything for you. Also, what do you roll when you fire the vibro cannon? Does having a warlock in the squad let you use the warlocks bs to fire the weapon?
