Welcome to Librarium Online!
I was at work today mulling over different strategies and lists as usual and yesterday was considering the usefulness of Anghkor Prok GW Online : Warhammer 40,000 : Tau : Anghkor Prok - Kroot Master Shaper the only Kroot Special Character I know of.
Granted I love kroot, but was just wondering how useful you see this lil guy, perhaps stuck in with a large carnivore squad with some hounds? Having leadership 10 and rerolling all misses in CC makes em seem...good? Course, your talking about up to and including 287points for one unit for a total of 35 wounds.
EDIT: To put that in perspective, in a full sized squad without Krootox it comes to about 9pts per body. For that you get to reroll misses in CC and a leadership of 10.

He's awesome, but frankly a little cheezy. Consider that his re-roll affect works on all krrot squads withing 12", not just his squad.
Awesome, but I can taste the broken. Plus he isn't quite official.
Within 6", and not official? By that you mean not usable in tournaments and only in regular play with opponents permission? I didnt see anything like it written on his rules.
Tournies will specify if a character can be taken, usually by stating that characters from the codex or officialy sanctioned GW characters available to an army are takne, no forge world etc.
I am goona do a green stuff sculpt of this fella and take him in my list occasionaly, I use Kroot and hounds as anti CC units and he will really bolster any unit he accompanies, only thing I am unsure of is the re-roll in CC once for each assault or once per game, eithe rway I still like him, that LDS will really help
Well, the Humans Auxillaries used to have a "this is cannon" marker, which made me doubt since Prok did not. But now they don't either, so I guess I'll conced that point.
3 outta 4 times krrot die cuz they failed a ld check. ld 10 really matters.
I just noticed......it used to be you could only take him for Tau armies, not mercenaries, but now you can take him for both. That's really, really broken. You could easily have like a 100 kroot -- 2-300 attacks!!! --- making rerolls. Kroot with things like evicerators.
I have the model, btw.
I have the model to but I am gonna green stuff sculpt one I have been looking for a new challanga and I like th Kroot model, very characterful
I think it's just the usual "re-rolls may only be rolled once" thing.
His special ability makes him a Kroot Chaplain with a Vox Casted Litany of Hate, if you think about it...
Maybe hes just really loud, oh and really long winded, since Litany of Hate only lasts for the first round, and only if they charge. As for how great he is, I have never played him, or seen the old guy played.
But after relooking at him, one immediate benefit I see for him is not in the attack role, but the relatively cheap LD boost role.... Nothing is more annoying (to me at the very least) than having the pathfinders fail their target priority test about half the time when trying to light up something thats not the nearest unit... well, slap Anghkor Prok to the unit, and problem solved!
I toyed with using Ethereals for this, but the 'price of failure' was a bit too big of a lure for the enemy, and all his attention was focused in on him. While lures are ometimes usefull, some lures are just too enticing... if you know what I mean.
