I'm away from my rulebook, but is there any reason a falcon couldn't fire off a plasma missle as a defensive weapon?
I'm not entirly sure you'd want to, but could you? I suppose it would leave the falcon with a S8 weapon after taking a weapon destroyed result, and would give you an extra attack at max range.
No problem with plasma.
I believe the BGB actually uses this an an example, where if you fired a plasma missile it counts as defensive, but if it were a krak missile, it would be offensive (as counted toward weapons available for fire when moving over 6").
The only problem I have with the EML is that it is a one shot weapon at bs3.

yep....thats right...but not exactly the best weapon to use IMO since the falcon hits only 50% of the time I'd prefer weapons that can fire more than a single shot a turn.

Generally, I like the Falcons with 2x Shuriken Cannons. It's cheap and it gives them a nice 8 shots per turn, good for light tanks and not shabby for infantry either.
Of course, keep it that way. Cheap. Falcons spend most of their time shaken anyway.
If carrying a squad, then i'd take the shuriken cannon. If acting as a tank at range then pickup the scatterlaser. You will never not be moving so why pickup the EML?
Still I deliver troops so I'm leaning towards dual shuri cannons, but it's nice to know I have the option.
