After the new year I'm gonna be starting a Nid army, and I have a question about a Choir list. How loudly will people scream 'cheese'?
1) Psychic Scream is only really effective in multiples.
2) Psychic Scream has a range of 18" which means your army will most likely be advancing as a group. With a 12" deployment zone and a 4x6 table, it will take you at least 3-4 turns to get your Choir within range of the enemy (if he is smart).
3) This list isn't as good against Marine players as they automatically regroup the turn after they run away and you can't sweeping advance them. Where this list really shines is against Necrons as you can sweeping advance them in CC and they don't get their WBB rolls. They are also great against troop heavy Tau and Eldar lists. Also, against Mech Tau, your Psychic Screams are basically a waste of 50 points.
is a psychic choit an army with 2 tyrants and 3 zoanthropes all with pyschic scream?
Sir we have a lock on the Hive tyrant.
NO! SHOOT THAT SPORE MINE! OH GOD, ITS GOING BACKWARDS!
if someone helps you, give them rep.
Another good army to use a Psychic Choir on is Daemonhunters. Yes, they're fearless, but where it really hurts them is psychic tests (and the morale of any allies they bring). Grey Knights and Daemonhunter Inquisitors have the potential to bring a lot of psychic units (probably more than anyone save Tzeentch Chaos... but since Thousand Sons can't fail psychic tests, Psychic Scream is much less useful against them).
