Welcome to Librarium Online!
Well, I just had it pointed out to my younger brother not to buy a Hammerhead. Instead he was told to buy a Skyray kit which has everything the hammerhead does, plus the bits for the Skyray for no extra cost.
Is anyone else aware of this?
... only triumph could turn pooing his pants into a good thing..
I play my 40k with friendly fire.
Finally fixed the link!
If you buy the Skyray, you get the Skyray box! if you buy the Hammerhead, you get the Hammerhead box! The hammerhead box is alot cooler!! The drawing... the color.. the box...
Other than that.. it's true.. =_=
Anima Tactics - try it out!
I personally don't think I'd ever use a skyray. But it does look cool, and there's no reason not to have the bits.
I have four tanks in my Tau army at present and guess what... They were all SkyRays. I bought a couple from ebay and a couple from the local store. Just to be supportive and all that. The advantage of buying a SkyRay is simple. You get all of the parts you need to build a Devilfish, RailHead, IonHead or SkyRay. Well almost. The gun drones are not included in the SkyRay box but then since most of us tau players have a few drones just laying around this is hardly a problem.
If you have the patience to fit the centre underslung sponson as a switchable magnetic interchangeable thingy then you can have a tank that can be used as any of the above four vehcles ina game. By collecting a range of parts you also acquire a kind of swop shop feel before games. I have a range of turrets ready to go so that I can make whatever I want. Also if you have looked at my army lists you will realise that my Piranhas all carry a pair of Seeker Missiles. It should not be hard for you to work out how it is that I came to have 12 seeker missiles just lying around...
I can't see many reasons to buy the Hammerhead box yet they seem to fly off the shelves while the SkyRay is a very unpopular model despite its worth in the game.
So yes, always buy the SkyRay.
