All my friends told me that the Spore Mines from the Biovare are guess weapons, is it so or, and where in the rule book do they say if it is guess or not(we cant find it)
Get a codex for tyranids. Its not a guess weapon anymore. You just say where you want to shoot it(48 inch range), and than roll a scatter dice with 2D6. Its quite unacurate but the spore minds fly around if they dont get into contact with the enemy(i think).
Yes they are not Guess Range they can go anywhere withing 48" and then they scatter and it they don't hit anything then they saty on the board until they are hit by a enemy unit or a Enemy Unit fires a weapon within 2" of the spore mine then it goes off.
Get 3 of them and it works very nice againsts Orks when they are trying to get into close combat with you but they cant move up forward because they will hit the spore, and they cant shoot because they are within 2 inches of it. Same goes with Tau. 3+ to wound with no armor save Ord Blast. Very nice.
actually posion is always a 4+ which is still awesome I love shooting posion mines into the open topped bunker that my Tau freind usually deploys his fire warriors in so they can be elevated lets just say byr bye fire warriors well most of them atleast.
Grrr, i got to read the codex more often, anyway all you need is 2 solid hits with Poison mines and that squad will be reduced to 4 guys. Hmmm, poison is like candy to the Tyranids.
Just in case you wasn't aware: Even though they shoot semi-direct they don't need LoS.
ya no LOS which is good cause you can hide him anywhere and just keep firing away mmmmm. posion although bio-acid is good too. helps with marines.
I know that you dont need LOS. But Bio Acid is not that great, unless you get a direct in the middle on the space marine squad. If it comes to them than you have a 1/3 chances of where you want the template to go.
I figure its the only AP 3 weapon we have so use it I usually go 2 posion and a bio-acid just for good messure.
