HI, I've been working on fluff for my DE army and i thought of a pretty good idea but i'm not sure if it's possible or anything, anyways the idea was to have a small kabal, somewhat like a break away faction that are fighting for redemption and acceptance from the eldar and are sworn to destroy slaanesh before it destroys all of the Eldar. Good idea? Suggestions?
I think its a good idea, it makes sense because Slaneesh is slowly killing eldar and dark eldar alike so techincally both hate them just as much.
As for a faction, fluff can be manipulated and be made whatever you want it to be. So you can make ANY story behind your Kabal's existence. However hunting down Slannesh himself isnt possible as the god cant be killed using conventional wepaons, but you could make a force with a purpose of destroying all of the denizens of Slaneesh. But still, normal dark eldar characteristics need to apply (i.e powerhungry, bloodthirsty, and very bad)
Hunting Slaneesh is more of a craftworld eldar plan, as most of the time dark eldar are busy pleasuring themselves and fighting their own civil wars. Wars where each Kabal rises to power by killing other Kabals, just to be later killed by another Kabal who suffers a similar fate. While Vect is sitting in the ice palace and laughing his back off of our stupidity.
So I think that the Harlies would have to feature heavily in any story line that you come up with.
Please consider the fact that no Chaos God has ever been destroyed before, created yes but truly killed……..
You could factor in that Slaanesh is the least powerful of the 4 Chaos deities and is constantly looking to increase in power and glory through seductive means, this could be a good setting for some sort of trap!
The best you could hope for in the destruction stakes is a neutering of Slaanesh’s power, perhaps in exchange for greater powers to the other 3 Gods?
So to sum up Slaanesh can be denied but not truly killed, how you achieve this denial is what will make or break your story.
In a controversy the instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves.
sorry, i wasn't very clear on that. I didn't mean destroy as in Bang! slaanesh is gone now, but more in the way as crippling the emperor's children legion and foiling slaaneshi cult plans, and thus weakening slaanesh's hold on the material plane. Also I understand the fact of putting harlies in the fluff but unfortunately theres no way i can incorporate this into games (that i know of). I also plan on using Drazhar, but not as him just using his rules cause i don't want to destroy the story behind such a kick ass character. Do you guys know anyways i can associate my Dark eldar with the eldar, I never really got into the multiple detachment or allies rules, but can eldar and dark eldar ally? Because this would be great for a suitably large battle
I play and collect both Eldar and Dark Eldar. One day, I wanted to play a 6000 point battle against my Marine/Inquisition friend. However, I didn't have enough points for just Eldar, or Dark Eldar, and considering we're both just friendly players, he let me make a list with three Force Orgs. consisting of 4000 Eldar, and 2000 Dark Eldar as "allies." The Fluff behind why this odd warhost was formed is because if the Marines (Valiant Brothers) and Inquisition (Ordo Malleus) broke through the Eldar and Dark Eldar defense, they woulud be able to go into an open Webway Gate.
Basically, if you're playing a friendly game, then I don't see why you can't use Eldar and Dark Eldar as "allies." Besides, its actually really fun. We made house rules that makes the Avatar's inspiring creature ability work on Dark Eldar units because when you're an Eldar, Dark Kin or not, and you see a giant incarnation of the God of War fighting along you're side, you can't not feel pretty confident. Also, I wasn't able to fortune or guide my Dark Eldar squads. All in all, I won, but I wasn't allowed to take prisoners from Close Combats that any Craftworlder was involved in, even if the Farseer was dooming the squad in Close combat.
Anyway, if you take off the inspiring creature house rule we put up, and if you're friend says yes, I really don't see why you can't use Dark Eldar and Eldar in the same big battle.
I've also been able to talk my friends into using the new Harlequins as Elite choices in my Dark Eldar army. Though, I don't know how to incorporate them yet.
