Alright, my friend is making an 8 x 4' City Fight board and we both agreed to make an army strictly for a terrain, building and sewer(Awesome layout so far) heavy table. My Idea is to have a ruthless hit and run army that only Eldar can do, here is what I propose(Biel Tan):
2 Farseers on jetbikes w/ Mindwar and Fortune
4 10 man WarpSpider squads w/ exarchs and all the skills
3 Vyper squads, 1 w/ Bright Lances and 2 w/ Star Cannons and Shuriken cannons
don't really want heavy support, depending upon points prolly another squad of WS
all Vypers would have Crystal Targeting Matrix
I do believe that for his army he's actually gonna use the all foot slogger guardsmen army. I have someone trying to sell me 60 Warp Spiders for a couple of months, so the cost wouldn't be a problem. I don't intend to ever actually be shot at, is that reasonable in a really building heavy city fight battle? My Ultras prefer a clear line of sight but my speeders dodge and weave like Ali, going everywhere and popping up for the knockou punch with the meltas, and against Guardsmen, the Wihdraw ablity will allow me to penetrate into their army really quickly.
What do you guys think?
That army looks like it would be really fun to play, although I suggest some upgrades on the Vypers, maybe CTM, maybe Spirit Stones/Holo Fields. However, the all Guardsmen army would probably just surround you, and slowly engulf you, seeing as Cityfight is so congested, and you have short range weapons on *most* of your troops.
Try to work some fire lanes into the battle. IE: If he charges around a building to engulf a squad inside it, jump your Spiders back, blow a hole in the line and run away.

Wait, you mean that optimism isn't fashionable anymore?!
Lord of Smart-ass Youthimizzles.
Soup's up, bitches!
Heh, fire lanes are what I'm after, fortunately there are 3 main streets running lengthwise, and 5 crossing those at right angles with subterraninean(spelling?) passages and sewers all over the place. In order to even move around he'll need to go down the streets, it'll take too long to go through all the buildings, and all I'll have to do is pop around corners with the Vipers, and jump around on top of some complete buildings with the spiders until I'm above them, then warp down on top of them.
Hmm, If you truely want hit and run for cityfight, replace (some of?) the vypers with jet bikes, whilst they are largely pants, they have the capacity to hit and run and also shoot and run, the twin linked shuriken catapults will be very usefull, move out, shoot (pretty much a gaurenteed 2 hits per bike) and move back behind that corner, he will be chasing you round the board for months
Everything you have been told is a lie!
Don't put Shuriken Cannons on the Vypers.
If you want to move them, you can only fire one weapon.
Against Guardsmen, Scatter Lasers can prove very useful, so I'd put in some War Walkers with two of them...
