I know this has been posted 1000 times but what if you were to make a crisis with a burst cannon, missile pod mmulti tracker and HW drone controller for a shield drone??? Sounds awesome to me!
Meh, I would keep it going one way or the other so if your going to take a burst cannon take a flamer, fusion blaster, or plasma rifle for close quarters. Missle pods are best for the long range so keep'em with plasma rifle says I. But then again burst cannon would be a more cost effiecent option....
Edit: thanks shas

Dont you mean plasma rifle? pulserifles are for the firewarriors and they cannot be fitted on a suit ( would look good though )pulse rifle
I agree that missilepods should go with plasma rifle and i think that flamers should only be taked when you want a squad to come very close to the enemy. I dont like that so i would take burstcannon+fusion blaster, that will give a good punch, being able to kill tanks and infantry in one turn!
--for the greater good--
>___< It would be like a close quarter, and long range suit. Well I'm goin' ta do it.
I could be wrong, but why put a multitracker on a combo with one weapon with only an 18" range? The point of the missile pod is its a high S weapon and its got good range. The point of the BC is its fire rate, but only to 18". You're only going to get any benefit from the MT when you're within 18" - and if you're planning on getting that close, why spend the points on the MP and MT at all? There's higher S and AP weapons if you're going to get that close, to say nothing of a Flamer.
missile pod + plasma rifle or burst cannon + plasma rifle are what i'd go for
if you're close enough to use the burst cannon you should be able to rapid fire the plasma rifle, plus it has that nasty AP value
less hate more kittens
Actually, one of the other Tau players at my store uses Burstcannon/Missile and Burstcannon/Plasma combos to good effect. The primary advantage of the Burstcannon is cost. Let's face it: cheap a Fireknife ain't. The Burstcannon gives the suit a viable alternative for anything that strays too close and it's other weapon still gives it ranged takedown power.
Though I've yet to face his Crisis Teams in open battle and so can't say how they fare on the field, he likes the config and uses it on two of his teams (one with Missiles, one with Plasma). His third team he fields as tank hunters with Missiles, Fusion Guns, and Shields. His HQ is (I think) a slightly adapted Fireknife team.
yea that idea is ok i guess.
