Welcome to Librarium Online!
Ok, so this is my first post. Does anyone use the brain bugs on IG troopers. i was thinking of kit bashing the warhammer vombies with an IG box. so my ?'s are. 1) are they effective 2) what are their points(i saw on the GW site, i think, that they were like 30pts, is this right?)
i just wanted to add some flaver to my army
As far as I know no one use's them as they arnt an official codex approved unit. Esentially they are just a variation on the genestealer cult's mutant's. If your after something different, try making a genestealer cult, thre's lots of info all over the web for them, and even in the old codex's as they were once a real unit.
ah the genestealer cult! How i wish they would make an updated army for them.
I hoped wee would see them in the 4th ed. nid dex, but no.
And i hoped we would get them in the back of a city fight dex similar to the 'Eye of Terror' book, but no again.
Then there was that hive fleet Kraken scenario from Britain i believe, they had a a cult list but alas, not official or approved by GW in any way.
I found a list made by a yahoo group, but then 1000 points of cultists destroyed 1000 points of Black Templar and 1000 points of Space Wolves in a 3-way game where they both turned on me, with out breaking a sweat. Needless o say, my friends won't let me use any internet lists again. Well here's to wishful thinking
What is this starship troopers? "Frankly i find the idea of a bug that thinks offensive"
You can find all the models for the starship troopers movie here!
I like the idea of mind control but don't you already have a toned down version called "Warp scream" or something that lowers Ld?
"Hey sarge, this lasgun is heavy. I wish we had something lighter."
FF7: ABOUT RANDOM BATTLES
Do you mean, how do you make a squad of mind-controlled humans that can fight for the Nids? I would just use gaunt rules, and have sufficiently converted Guardsmen to represent them. They would have to be 'Genestealer Cultists', like everyone else said. Give em 2 laspistols each to represent Spinefists, or you could even use lasguns as Fleshborers, and just say that they use special 'poisoned' rounds or something.
Tyranids: 2500 pts
Imperial Guard: 1000 pts
Witch Hunters: 1000 pts
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
Voor alle nederlanders:
The Dutch Legion
Actually, I think he's talking about these things: GW Online : Warhammer 40,000 : Tyranids : Forgotten Fleets
Although the Brain Bug miniatures from the Starship Trooper game might make interesting Zoanthropes or monstrous creatures of some sort.
what i was talking about was making some imperial guard with mind controled bugs attached to them "brain bugs". i know i wouldnt be playing them in tournys as they arnt legal. I am already working on a coult, but i want more of the troopers taken over like vombies, in a state of death and decay. I would just go with lost and the damed and have vombies, but i have no money(as im in college, and cant afford a new army). so story short, i love the warhammer vombies and wanted some way to use them with my nids.
Could you get a force that 'felt like' a genestealer cult with Imperial Guard and doctrines?
I'm thinking 'Grenadiers' or 'Hardened Fighters' might stand for the superior physical capabilities of hybrids; 'Die-hards' or 'Iron Discipline' might stand for the Hive Mind. Equipment like Chem-inhalers, Cameleoline, Carapace Armour and Warrior Weapons might stand for more niddy mutations.
For a friendly game you could take a force like this as allies for a genestealer force. 'Stealers plus Leman Russes. Yum. :ninja:
