the last few games i've played i've only had around 15% troops, anyone else find that they're just using battle suits and hammerheads?

i'd much rather take gun drones or stealth suits than fire warriors, i love the mobility they offer

last game my firewarriors were just a shield/infantry support for my broadsides

I think that troops are the bases of the army and Firewarriors provit a solid firebase and personally I think that the others are just add ons to the firewarriors

Whats wrong with you! The Fire Warriors are like your backbone. Oh so instead of about 48 fire warriors your going to order 48 gun drones?.....=stupid. The Fire Warriors can have friggin Pulse Rifles, 30" range at maximum! I think its better than 18" range on a carbine, even though its pinning.

i like the jumpy movement, it makes my army feel much less vulnerable

and my normal army has 2 squads of 8 gundrones, i got some off of ebay so i didn't have to pay the silly mailorder prices

    Kor'vesa?

Uhm... you DO know those are Fast Attack choices, right? Thus, you can't have more than 24 of them in squadrons on the table.

Fire Warriors are a required choice, you must include at least one unit of them, and I usually field four. They offer awesome firepower, excellent durability, and can even be very mobile if equipped properly (translation: Devilfish), all for a low point cost compared to their value.

If I have to choose between another squad of Warriors or a kitted-out Monat, I'll go for the Warriors every time.

they're poor against marines, poor against armour and have rapid "don't move me" fire weapons

i prefer assault weapons and jump troops, same cost per shot, much more fun

Fire Warriors are an excellent value at only 10 Points apiece. In three turns of firing against 5+ armor they will kill 30-40 troops. Even agianst SM 3+ armor they will kill 15-20 in three turns. All for the paltry cost of 360 points.

That leaves your other 600-1200 points of Crisis Suits, Stealth Suits, Hammerheads, and Broadsides to clean up the rest......

i'm about to pick up a another box of fire warriors (to supplement my paltry 24) but i still think gun drones are better

the next game i play i'll try a LOT of firewarriors though
