Welcome to Librarium Online!
Wassup. I just got 3 blisters of Warp Beasts and a Beastmaster. Considering that the beasts have 3 attacks standard, str.4 and fleet of foot and charge 12", AND the beastmaster has an agonizer and ALSO FoF and charges 12", i rechan they fit the speed of my army very well.
What i plan to do is to keep them in cover, quickly moving up, but isolated from the rest of my army when out in the open, and tie up any squads which prove a great threat to my army (devastators, squads with heavy weapons). They could do the job too if they are attacking crap armour troops. Even marines, the beastmaster, 2 attacks, 2 on teh charge, she will whoop dat ass.
Any other opinions on them would be great. Also, i don't have any idea how to paint the Warp Beasts. My DE paint scheme is i paint them all a mix of Mithril Silver and the old type Regal Blue. Everything blue, eyes red, hair white. Like in the codex, the metallic blue. Very nice i reckon.
R U 0K!??!? BUHHHHST WUUUULFFFFF!!!
Kerpal, your kabal probably looks sweet.
My opinion on warpbeasts are that they are excellent!!!!!!!
their 3 downsides though are the low toughness, bad save and they can't tear through armour i.e. allow no armour saves.
As for painting I'm crap so I won't give out any advice.
I think Warp beast rock, simple as that. Their fast, as you mentioned, and amongst a fast army, they still stand out as fleet mother*****ers. Their large number of attacks is great, as is their high number of attacks, high strength. Their cons are that they have small squads, and toughness 3 on each beast. The beastmaster is the same thing, only with a power weapon as well. Charging Guardsmen, Guardians, or Guants, they can really do a lot of damage. (Hmmmm, notice all the weak units start with g's ? ) Charging SMurfs, the Beasts will encounter stiffer resistance, and aren't anywhere near as likely to buy themselves back.

Wait, you mean that optimism isn't fashionable anymore?!
Lord of Smart-ass Youthimizzles.
Soup's up, bitches!
they're ok...but i say take something else instead...***** warp beasts
They wreck havoc to anyone i use em as a secoundary assult squad my primery being my reavers when they charge they can destroy entire platoons and if you manage to get into cc with marines no problame your tieing up their expensive squad with just 75 pts for the entire unit i was thinking of going cult just to get more. With the agoniser you'll kill enough marines druing your turn folllowed by the 20 attacks on the charge before they strike you'll recieve minimal damage
For the point cost, its a good way to tie up a squad from shooting more important stuff. Excellent strength and attacks, strictly close combat material able to dish out damage to numerous amounts of troop squads. Although i dont have any, i have proxied by using Marine bikes and a wych succubus. Worked out great. Ima gonna buy some soon hopefully.
Thanks for the feedback, but I still don't know how to paint them? Maybe some red gore, then wash with flesh wash maybe?

Any meat flesh color will do. Any of the reds are fine, but highlighting afterwards produces an extremely nice looking model. Ive seen also purple warp beasts before. Heh stick with the red i guess.
I hear there good...but i stay away from witches in my army.
Dark Eldar: The Kabal Of the Black Heart: Bloody Claw division.
Black Legion: Division 666
Vampire Counts Von Castein Bloodline: w/l/t
Stay away from witches? I know its fluff that you should have at least one squad in an army, but what do you use w/ the points that coulda gone to a wyche squad?
