Can somebody tell me why a barbed strangler costs 5 points more on a carnifex if it has the toxin sacs biomorph? The maximum strenght of the weapon is 8 so it doesn't make sens to me.
Well it just would be fair to all the other models that have to pay the extra points when they use it with toxin sacs... Yeah I don't know really its just there, the toxin sacs are really made for the Scything talons & Crushing Claws for purpose of assault, though its rare that you will ever equip it for assault. Can somebody tell me why a barbed strangler costs 5 points more on a carnifex if it has the toxin sacs biomorph? Legion Of Everblight: Abyslonia
Protectorate of Menoth: Grand Exemplar Kreoss
I belive it's a miss-print... it was discusted on the forum just when the new codex was released and alot of ppl asked at their locak GW store and they've got the response that it was a miss-print. But since it doesn't say in the errata I can't say for shure. Ask your local GW store and go for their answer.
But since the strangler is mostly used with the VC you shouldn't even consider buying the TSacs
THIS faq anyway... and that's the only one I could find on the UK site. Anyother faq you're referring to?
The barbed strangler actually has three different points values. It has two listed in the section for it's weapons. If you look down the page you will see the 'example' thornback. This Carnifex has a barbed strangler too and it costs five points more than the cost of a barbed strangler with toxin sacs.
There are three different points values and giving it toxin sacs will not change the power of the weapon. Many will say to use the lowest points value but this is unfair on your opponent. I suggest you be fair and go for the middle ground or what could be called a compromise. Use the middle points cost. It is not the cheapest or most expensive, it is the one that you would give a Carnifex with toxin sacs. Any Carnifex toxin sacs or not should be using this points value as it is the fairest.
Do this and nobody can accuse you of picking the cheapest value because you want to pay less points, you won't have to pay the highest points value. Also considering how powerful a barbed strangler is on a Carnifex the middle or higher points value is probably the correct one.
