well latetly ive been marines weapons.
plasma cannons-help me, these rip holes throuhg my army and quickly lead to phas out.
lascannon- they go for the heavy destroyers and i got nothing to take out the terminators.
plasma gun- arrrghh, everytime i get with rapid fire range im dead.
How can i combat these weapons and win a few more battle. i'm actually doing fine, won 7of the last 9 games against marines but i'm still having difficulty.
helpl be very appreciated, thanks in advance
Really the best and only option is the Resurrection Orb. It'll allow WBB against all of those weapons and somewhat reduce their effect. If you're clever you can get it to cover 2 or 3 squads of warriors.
7 from 9 isn't too bad, anyway.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
they way to get around SM and their high ap weapons is a destroyer bodied lord, or 2 make ana lmost indestructable combo, one with an orb, both coming back with up to all of their wounds, un-insta-killable toughness meaty amout of attacks. even one is a bain to most armies in conjunction with your unit of destroyers.
then fill up with troops and your 'lith and your away bringing your troops through the 'lith in order to keep your army line close and scarey along with alive, getting to have another crack at that wbb is awesome
For plasma cannons spread out your warriors, my friend has an entire army of at least 30 plasma cannons and a bunch apothacaries to back them up if they over heat and fail their save. If you spread out your warriors it will greatly reduce their effectiveness.
For lascannons use scarabs to tie them up or destroy the vehicle with disruption fields, if they fire at the scarabs they are wasting shots not firing at your destroyers or anything else that contributes to phase out.
And as for plasma guns when they rapid fire they over heat on 1s and 2s so there is a higher chance that they will over heat and kill themself. The best thing to do is lock them in combat with scarabs or other cc units or shoot them up as much as possible before the can do any damage.
Hope that helps.

wow, nows theres something useful for scarabs, thanks mate.
With scarabs, you've got to be extra wary about those plasma weapons. They instakill those swarms and the plasma cannon is even more efective in this regard because it's got a template (2 wounds against swarms.,...)
Personally, I wouldn't bother too much with plasma weapons. true, they ignore your 3+ saves, but what's the problem? They can't instakill anything except the scarabs, so you'll always get your wbb roll. Remeber: only cc attacks that ignore saves negate wbb. The AP of a ranged weapon does not affect your wbb in any way. So set up your units in some cover and you should be able to shrug off the worst of the effects.
They can't harm a monolith either so once you get rid of those lascannons, you're pretty safe.
Since Plasma Guns are rapid fire weapons, they shouldn't pose that much of a problem. Necron firepower increases drastically once below 24". So when the plasma gun bearing squad comes to you, fire away.
Keep your Destroyers behind cover to avoid being shot down by plasma or lascannons. When you absolutely have to enter LOS of a Lascannon/Plasma Cannon squad then do it because you want to shoot them to pieces. Concentrate your firepower. Only if one target is completely neutralized switch to the next. Go after the easy targets first (Land Raiders and Preds) then move to the more difficult ones.
I would recommend an Infiltrating unit of Flayed ones to go after any Devastator Squads, if you don't want to use scarabs.
If your opponent regular army includes Normal Terminators (not assaulty ones with lightning claws) then consider fielding Pariahs. They are very vulnerable to the plasma weapons, so keep them in cover. But they own any Terminator units with P-Fists in CC. They also provide good medium range firepower (useful for mowing down squads that come to close) and good CC support for any Warrior squad that happens to get assaulted.
Not in my game you won't!!
I love tying up Dev/Havoc/Broadsides with a unit of Scarabs. They hold their own long enough if not the whole game to make it a worth while venture.
Actually... I love blowing up a vehicle with Scarabs. To see the face of the enemy player when a bunch of little bugs roll over and POP goes the Land Raider. mwhaha!
Makes me laugh now.
