This post is a small introduction for those of you who play Necrons (If any...). So please write a line or two about your army as an reply to this topic so we can get the ball rolling...
A little about my Necron Army. I have ca 2000 pts of Necrons, made of warriors, monolith, flayed ones, wraiths, pariahs, destroyers and hvy destroyers. I havn't played much with them, (1 battle actually) as I prefer my Dark Angels.
'But for corruption thou hast made Belial, an angel of hostility. All his dominions are in darkness, and his purpose is to bring about wickedness and guilt. All the spirits that are associated with him are but angels of destruction.
Yeah im starting I like small forces with lots of fire power. Plus im geting sick of good (space marines) evil is better anyway.
If you want evil go Chaos so you can crush the tiny space marines!
Death to the Imperium of Man!
Crush the Chaos with NECRONS
I'm starting a Necorn army. As of now I've got a squad of Wraiths, 1 squad of troops(I know I need another), a squad of scarabs and the Necron Lord. I want to get some destroyers and the Nightbringer. Spekaing of which anybody have any opinions ont he Nightbringer. If your just going to say it's a waist, don't bother.lol, I mean like cananyone tell me some good strategys with the Nightbringer?I alreayd know 1 or 2 of my own I jsut sort of though up, but some of yalls may be better.
Necrons rule! They will shoot you and cut you up and step on the pieces and burn them and assemble the ashes and shoot them again and grind them into sand and scatter the sand into the sea and boil the sea away and gather the hardened remains and melt them into a rock and shoot the rock and burn what's left and launch the remains into the sun and...
Seriously, to anyone who picks Necrons as their army as they start out, great choice. People will tell you they are cheese- DON'T LISTEN TO THEM! They are just sore losers. Have fun playing Necrons- I always do!
Si em, tow en can de lach.
Tak! Tak! Tak ah wan, Tak a lah!
Mi tow, can de lach.
Mi him, en tow.
Necrons were built for one purpose - to kill. They are death incarnate, and the armies of the C'Tan will reap the souls of billions!
I have a 2000 Point Dark Angels army, but am now starting a Necron army, though I only have a few models (We all gotta start somewere!) they are an excellent force. People do complain that the Necrons are broken and cheesy, and these are primarily the people who get their assess whuped by them.
Dont get me wrong, the Necrons are exceptionally powerful, but every force has its advantages. It just happens that the tried and tested approach of many gamers to simply shoot the biggest guns at the enemy 'til you win just doesnt work well against Necrons, and so people hate them because the Necrons force players to actually use clever tactics to beat them, as opposed to boring and predictable 'Bang! Bang!' methods.
One thing I often find in Necron games I either play or watch, is that they are far more interesting to watch than any other armies fighting it out that I have seen. The seeming invincibility of the Necrons armies has forced the Warhammer players were I live to win by outsmarting their foes, instead of outgunning them, which is IMO always more fun to watch.
So win or lose, if you play with Necrons you can expect great fun! Unless your facing off against the poor losers who refuse to fight Necrons, but thankfully at least Games Workshop isnt made up of people like that!
Just putting my name down, recently put the workings down on a 1000pt necron army and working on bringing that up to 1500 and and giving the 1000 a little more flexibility in the process. Have very little experience with the actual game although I've always tried to keep up with the background fluff which I love.
The choice to play necrons was two fold, the release date was close to the time I started turning hard earned money into plastic (yeah i know that was ages back im a slow starter) and I'm a bit of an egyptian buff. Was a close thing though, the Tau seemed very very cool, in the end though the bitter resentful nature of the necrons won through
Someone mentioned to be after I start that Necrons are sometimes considered cheesy and are a bit good really, I give a thumbs up to not having a sucky faction and move on.
Some defeats later it's mentioned to me that 500pt games aren't the best for necrons.. I agree and drool over the pretty models like the wraiths (well I think theyre pretty).
Insert some more no wargaming gaming. Sabertoothgames start talking about their new 'Horus Heresy' ccg (which is going to be great incidentily if only from the fluff side). Info is a little hard to get though and I'm still in need of a 40k fix, some books later my Necron army gets dragged out again and reconsidered. Somehow they managed to get a C'Tan in there too...
Some posts later another 5 immortals and here I am.
A long time listener first time player...
well here I am,
finally down 2 the introduction..
never been really good at these things.
well I collect necrons, just because they rock.
they're real like terminators, and their Will Be Back, haha makes me think of Arnie's Motto.
well I have about 3500 points necron.
about 800 unpainted.
I have played a lot of games with necron.
and I have seen their power over other races.
only a shame they have so little models and weapons.
o well gotta do what you have right..
c ya guys
I have 2100 points of Eldar, played for three years. Then I decided to start a new army ( space marines ), but after reading a bunch of codex's, I decided to play Necrons. The fact that they look like terminator without the human skin. Hopefully they will bring some more models out ( like a transport, wave serpent like ).
I currently have 984 pts of Necrons, hoping to get 1500 soon.
