Is the Talos considered a monstrous creature? I cant find in the DE Codex where it says so but it classifies it as on on page 87 in the rule book.
Prey they don't take you alive
seems like the Talos takes the worst part of Skimmers and MC's XD
"98% of the teen population has smoked weed, if you are the 2% that hasn't, put this in your signature."
Yeah but its still a sweet little unit.
I wish GW would have said that the Talos is a MC in the DE Codex. Or maybe they did and I just didnt see it or something.
The Talos is a wierd hybrid and yes it is classed as a -
1) Monstrous creature for purposes of blocking line of sight, movement through difficult terrain, firing more than one weapon (two splinter cannons) and assault - D6 attacks and add each hit to the armour penetration,
2) Floaty model, as described by GW, not really a skimmer as it can't move over models,
3) Walker in close combat due to never having to take a moral check.
So if you combine all of these attributes without being confused you are doing well! But seriously it is the one "Bad Boy" that Dark Eldar have, slow but very effective in close combat.
In a controversy the instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves.
While its a sweet little unit that can seriously kill stuff its rules are a complete travesty when it comes to unit classification as wickywack1 explained.
I like to think of it as a floating wraithlord.
Yes. True. Don't think of the talos as a 'skimmer' as it follows none of the rules for vehicle skimmers, consider it a 'floater' with it's own rules for it's floating. If it was really a skimmer it would mean it could move 12" like all vehicles (not ponderous) and you'd need 6's to hit it in combat, it'd get skimmer moving fast when it moves over 6".... It does none of that. It simply moves over terrain, if it stops in terrain it takes a dangerous terrain test. It is a MC as per the rulebook (not the codex) but it already ignores armour and it doesn't get 3d6 penetration, so that bonus it's almost useless. I don't use the talos anyway because it's too slow, I can't wait till the dawn of war dark eldar mod comes out though because the talos would wreak some serious havoc! Can you imagine the gore it would create? Carnage!
