Im thinking of starting Necrons, but in the past, and my biggest problem is that when i start an army, within 2 months or less, im bored of them. Ive had a look through the Codex and the Necrons dont offer alot of choice, which makes things worse!
Basically, am i likely to get bored of them quickly, or are they an army that never gets boring?
Tell me about your experiences with them and why i should start them!
do what i do: get 500pts worth: 2 troops and 1 hq, that way you can play some and by the time it get's boring: start a new 500pt army!
Im looking for that one army that i will stick with for eternity and learn it inside out to the point where i can play them with my eyes closed...If you get me...:ninja:
I hear alot of people say that they find Necrons a boring Army. Same tactic and no options.
What is it about playing armies that bores you? Do you like to be able to mold them the way you want per battle? Do you want to see hordes of them running amuck across the field? Do you like the variations of painting and model possibilities?
Start warhammer fantasy. The armies are much more impressive, and the game itself is a lot more tactical and in depth. i think you will find it a lot easier to get hooked and tick with an army
Stick with 40K and play Chaos. You can't get bored of Chaos.
Alternatively, be really creative with your necrons or find fresh blood in your area to fight.
Necrons do have the least choice in the game though, so make sure you know what you're getting yourself into

Tyranids are also a good choice for someone who wants a lot of options. With all their biomorphs there is almost no end to the amount of variations you can do for a 'nid army.
Yup, Nids are fun to put together. I can sit for hours trying to find the type of army build I want.
Why did no-one mention imperial guard. There's a bazillion choices for them, not to mention the fact that you can use any human figure in the entire GW range to represent one.
Try getting bored of that!
Just don't buy several hundred at the same time on E-bay... it's a slog to paint....
But yes, anyway, necrons, once you've got the two troops and an HQ sorted (troops being the dull part) then you can swing your army in several directions.
Just make sure you like the colour silver if you choose necrons. And have a decent drybrush.
I'd play necrons just to get a monolith, tis a lovely model. Alright, it's a big green box, but that box is full of awesome!
If I've replied, i've probably used Italics...
