One thing I could never figure out is which TYranid unit is the best to tackle Chaos demons and Necron Gods like the C'Tan. My question is, which Tyranid units are the best at banishing Demons and Necron Gods and what is the best tactic in using them?
Alternately Rending Warriors and Rending Raveners.
Rending lets us bypass the fancy armor saves of most demons, and inflict wounds independant of toughness.
Daemon prices and ctan are usually built for severe 'anti-character' conflict. They want us to fling a tyrant, carnifex, what have you at them so they can utterly erradicate the poor bastard by bypassing his armor save, inflicting multiple wounds per hit, instant death, etc.
More models and more wounds equals more survivability and thus more punishment you can deal out.
My general advice though is to avoid the ctan altogther, you've got necrons to kill.
And introduce the daemon princes to your genestealers. Even favored by the gods of chaos, he's not going to take 3-6 rending strikes too lightly.
And I don't mean the close combat kind. Most units of that nature (greater daemons, and the necron gods) have high tough, and a medium invuln save (but no regular save). That means that the max str venom cannon, and high barbed strangler are almost ideal for shooting them. You wound of a 2+ and 4+ (minimum) respectively, and your low AP doesn't hurt you because it uses it's invuln save no matter what. Unfortunately, your fex almost certainly has other more important things to shoot, tanks, and large clusters of units, but if those targets aren't there, by all means, shoot the CC monsters.
Barring that, hit them with genestealers (if you must engage them, and you must engage them in close combat). As has been said, 3-6 rending attacks on the charge (and you should be able to get off the charge) will make anything cry, especially big expensive things like Necron gods and Daemons. The rends ignore the high tough, high wpn skill lets the other attacks hit often, giving you a few more token wounds, and most importantly, you'll be going first in CC. That means you can do all this dmg to the big boy before he even gets to hit back.

Genestealers... they are the tyranid Shock troop. My general rule of thumb is...anything that can kill a tyrant or Carnifex in close combat ie anti character, will have a very hard time vs genestealers infact barring wyches, banshees and harlis, Genestealers are feared by pretty much every other unit in the game.
A note on Chaos princes who get tooled up, Allways try to go for an easy kill with a str 10 warpblast or two before engaging in CC

Rending Genestealers are the pain in the side of any big beasty, assuming you can actually get rending hits.
Alternatively, throw 20 spinegaunts into close combat with the monster and leave it to fight its way free - which in general it won't be able to do in the 4-5 turns left in the game. For 100 points you've made ineffective the 150-250 points on the monster.
Just make sure to keep the little guys in synapse range!
For a tooled out Daemon Prince (and non-nurgle greater daemons) I like to go with a nice devil fex (preferable two)...8 twin linked shots, 6 hits, 3 wounds plus re-rolls to get a fourth, then he just needs to fail a few saves...If he doesn't have daemonic armor you should kill him with 2 devil fexes in one shooting phase, which will cost close to the same amount. With the Ctan you need to swamp him with gaunts, or rend him with stealers, however you should keep in mind that it takes about 60 attacks to get the number of rending wounds to kill him (nightbringer)...you are better off with the gaunts and using your stealers for getting him below his phaseout number.
VS chaos demons take a psychic choir (3 zoans an 2 hive tyrants with psychic scream) when they are forced to take an inestability test and u have all this minis in range they will have a -5 leadership, the demons will probably get a lot of wounds cos this.

If you swamp a Nightbringer w/ gaunts, he's just going to force punch them away, or nuke them all with his "hit everybody on a 4+" or w/e that ability is, just FYI.

If they're using C'tan, ignore it and go for the Necrons (and hope he isn't keeping them all in resolve and just pounding you with multiple monoliths and the C'tan).
Against others, I use cheesey tactic number four--target saturation. Throw a CC carnifex at him...it...whatever. Then molest slide a comforting number of genestealers right next to him. He can either choose to attack the carnifex or the genestealers, but not both. Considering how allergic people are, it'll probably be against the genestealers. So perhaps five S10 attacks against poor daemon prince (which will probably insta-kill) or greater daemon plus leftover attacks from surviving genies.
Note that this tactic isn't that great when using multiple squads of genestealers as the first squad will probably surround the target and prevent the others from getting in.
