Other: mysterious, tragic, dark colours
Hi guys! Long time no post on these forums. Feels good to be back.
In a couple of weeks I think I am going back to playing warhammer. At the moment I am too buisy with school and sports (swimming, water polo..) to paint or play, but in the summer holidays I might get back into it At the moment I have the previous version of the batallion box (the one with 20 guardians, Falcon, 3 bikes and a vyper) and i'll be painting them. At the moment I am stuck trying to choose between two colour schemes;
1) Traditional Saim-Hann
2) Something dark/tragic looking, really alien, dark purple/black/blue-ish.
I'll post in the painting section of these forums once I made my decision because I'll need some help with the right colours/techniques...
Anyway, what are your colour schemes? I am wondering
P.S. I want to play an army that has lots of bikes, vypers, and tanks, supported by specialized elite units. Since Saim-hann, lorewise, don't use much infantry (or do they?) I am kind of wondering bout my colour scheme, because I like both ideas but I fear getting too much infantry with the red scheme because it would look weird (red Eldar armies are supposed to be mostly bikes anyway, right? )
A Tau Ethereal was thought to have been killed today by a Bloodthirster. However, many Tau were seen fleeing the scene and are considered suspects.
I use a deep blue mottled scheme with white as a secondary color. The blue involves using blue ink,so it creates a sort of "dark water" effect. I'm very happy with it. Easy to do,too.
As a note,I'm currently painting up the last few bikes in a tank and bike heavy army, and it looks pretty striking. I could try to get some pictures up if I could find a decent camera.
My scheme is Ulthwe in theme, mainly black, bone coloured helmets and weaponry but with red chest and shoulder plates. Black is the predominant colour. The only models that differ from this scheme are my Rangers, whose cloaks are painted to blend in with their bases and my Harlequins, or they will be when I find the time.
Craftworld Croghan-du, blue and gray, some silver.
"The sword that takes life gives life."
blood, bone, black. fire... legion of the damned meets eldar.
I play Altansar, and thusly also use their color scheme. The only difference is my scheme is a little less pink and more red. Also my vehicles all have orange and black camo for lack of a better word. I chose mysterious dark on the poll.
Pics later if I feel like taking them.

It sounds like a lot, and to be honest it came from my Harlequin Rhino from way back in the day.
My aspect warriors I paint pretty much "classic' but my vehicles and guardians and wriathguard get the teal, green, and purple with black and red for accents.
"Orcs are what happens when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles grow old and bitter."
I do Biel-Tan, but with bone instead of white. THough Ive been debating about whether to do my aspect warriors in the craftworld colors or the aspect colors.
I do a black undersuit with red armour, and white faceplates and hands (except for farseers/warlocks who have white helms and black faceplates)
The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. Bring them understanding of the power of ourselves through our strength and their fear. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all fragments will be smashed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be consumed
