Welcome to Librarium Online!
So I used to play orks back in 'ol days well before the new sprues, but I was too young to understand anything and just liked interfering with the battle with my pesky green skins.
But now since wanting to get back into the game and understand it some more I though of coming back to orks. But I need something different.
I'm not painting them green *gasp* shock and horror, but using:
Snakebite > (possible dwarf flesh, but its not really working on normal boyz) > Bleached bone > highlights with skull white.
I was wondering if anyone else had any unorthodox Clanz I could use for some reference, or indeed some fluff or mechanics as to why they aren't green.
(i'll try show you all some pictures when I find my camera lead)
I haven't done it yet, but plan to paint my Skar Boyz red. Going off a bloodlust fluff theme for them. Their bloodlust is not only what gives them their extra strength, but also turns their skin red.
Though I may instead paint my Storm Boyz red. Fluffwise on them it would be more of body/war paint they cover themselves in because "red wuns go fasta".
Other ideas for color /fluff could include:
Artic Orks - over the years they have adapted to the cold weather and turned white, which provides them with a natural camo.
Cave Orks - the lack of sunlight has left their skin brown
River/Ocean Orks - all the years on the sea/in the water has turned them blue.
Monkey's Killer Kan WiP (Updated 4/29)
or poo orkz!, a deep deep brown
my friends suggested Safety Orange Orks..
Create flames for a galaxy and it will be warm. Put a galaxy in flames and it will be warm for the rest of it's existence.
I can remember discussing once about how to justify a players 'red orks'. Chaos mutation is the obvious answer.
But then orks are also basically plants so its possible they adapted to their homeworld of some kind. "Sunburnt Orks" or so to speak.
Basically I say just ignore any fluff inconsistancies and go for it anyway.
Check out my Codex: Farmyard Animals here!
If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
Red Orks would be cool. Kind of like the chaos orcs from warcraft. But blue or sfaety orange.... no thanks. From what I've ehard, the orks brain is so full of empty space any demon trying to possess a Orkoid will be hopelessly trapped:yes:. Nothing to do with mutation, but man would it suck for any demon.Chaos mutation is the obvious answer
or forget the chaos answer and say the orks have alot of warpaint thats what my orks have they are bad moon yellow nd imperial blue however they do have some orkish green on them........and if you do go the red paint route and say their chaos orks it will be pretty raw if your bosspoles and waaagh banners were chaos standards...........have funn!!!
