When a mek boy/mad dok takes grot oilers/orderlies, do they count for space in a wartrukk/battlewagon?
For example would this fit in a battlewagon?
Warboss + 8 Nobz in mega armour, mek boy with 3 grot oilers, mad dok with 3 grot orderlies.
Even though they are Wargear, grot oilers and orderlies are still models and take up 1 of the slots in a Wartrukk/Battlewagon.
So since your example unit is 17 Models, it would fit in a Battlewagon (capacity of 20), but not in a Wartrukk (Capacity of 10). Note that even without the Oilers and ORderly's the unit would be 11 models and still would not fit in a Wartrukk.
Alright, thanks for answering. Do mega-armoured units not take up 2 spaces in a transport? That is what would make this take 20 spaces without the grots.
Ah, I gotcha! But no, unlike termies, Mega Armoured Orks do not take up 2 slots. In the new Dex they may, but currently they do not.
Really? wow, that means you could really fit a world of hurt into that battlewagon. Can i put 2 different squads in it as long as the model count doesn't excede 20? Ifi can than im thinking warboss with decent retinue + big mek with decent retinue. Man that would hit hard!
What you put in which transport is part of how you place your troops, and it isn't linked to which unit the transport came with.
So you could buy a unit of Trukkboyz, then deploy them on foot and stick a unit of 'Ard Boyz in it instead.
Not that there's a good reason to do so, but you could.
Huh. Must be a wording in the codex then. You could still short-change the number of trukkboyz and stick in another unit though, correct?
This is mostly only useful for ICs, but you never know.
