normish i was thinking mabye you could call them the omen chapter ……. anyways i was looking over a new color scheme i made today and trying to think of a back ground. here’s what i thought up while reading this. the Pheonix guard, based on there home world of pyromis a vivid jungle planet on the edge of the imperium known mainly for the heat and unexplained tyranid presence at the northern edge of the planet, only the marines initiated on this planet can explain the tyranid presence. it is the ritual of the Pheonix’s in order to become a full initiate each scout must wander to the northern edge beyond all other civility on the planet and hunt a carnifex, armed only with a plasma gun krak grenades he ventures into the wilderness, after sucessfully taking down this carnifex the scout must strip it of its tusks and return to the colony. upon returning the scout will be initiated into a full battle brother, once a full battle brother the space marine will craft the carnifex tusks into a ivory knife. the pheonix chapter favors plasma weaponry, on of the core beliefs of the pheonix chapter is that all warriors that are slain are reborn to return to the chapter as and initiate

I enjoyed reading your article, and since you seem to know what you are doing, I was wondering if you would help me out.
You see, I had crated a Space Marine Chapter, painted mostly black, with mechrite red backpacks and shoulder-pads, and gold trim. For their emblem, I simply use an upside down Ultramarine emblem, so it looks like an Omega.
I had been planning to call them the Omega Marines, but recently figured out that the name was already taken. So, I was wondering if you could help me in thinking up a new name, though it has to be tied in with the color scheme and emblem.

the Golden Spines. Husbands of the Sisters of Battle. ((sorry i didn't know marriage was a touchy) lets just say celibate promised or paired with the Sororitas). UltraMarine geneseed and using similar paint. Gold and paled blue with bone color schemes. flir de li with wings as their symbol. lots of assault squads w/ swords and angel imagery. robes and LOTS of banners... no helmets. when they charge (fly) into battle they want to look death in the eyes (the only way to be united with their counterpart Battle Sister?? you wouldn't go on a first date in a motorcycle helmet!). Close but not too close to Holy Terra. Living on a network of worlds guarding a flame for the Emperor. like the olympic torch they make sure the several flames never all come in danger at once. and ferrying back and forth to keep the same fire burning across the Imperium while they wait for their love to call them.

here is the twist i want your ideas and help about the most.
they gain some double strength or extra save (or double flight radius??) because they use the power of their battle sister counterpart....but dropping dead in an instant is not at all unusual to these Golden Spines because they know they only stand as long as their lover still lives on her own battle field many thousands of worlds away. any model who uses their bonus must roll a save to see if they drop dead for every turn after. sound like too much??

Mushroom, you could create a successor chapter of the Dark angels. with heraldy almost the same as their parent chapter.

I was wondering if you could like take over a chapters symbol like the Dark Angels cause I really love their symbol but I like the purple with white colour sceme with a bit of gold but I dont know if that would work or not plz respond to my question…..

I like your ideas on building a chapter, I am not much into the fluff and the novels of the 40k universe but have a basic understanding, I feel that my chapter would be located on the outskirts of the Imperian with the TAU being my most hated enemy. Colors are Blood Red on shoulder boards and lower legs with Bleached bone for upper legs torso and arms with blood red gloves, I am thinking of calling them Blood Templars. I am assuming that their gene seed would be like from the Ultra Marines or some chapter jsut as old and surviving the Horsey rebellion if you can call it that. What do you think of my ideas? Do they seem to be workable?
