Spent the weekend at Maelstrom games playing in the “Polish sausage” tournament. This is a four player team event for Warhammer. I was fortunate enough to be joined by Richard Deane from my local clubs, David Maughan and Jake Corteen. They were all wonderful people and just at good at playing, which was just as well, because I dragged the whole team down with five week results. Had great fun at a well organized event and was lucky enough to be given the prize for best painted army. The army is fully painted now and I will be posting pictures soon of the pieces I finished in the last few days before the event. In the meantime I have promised pictures of completed units of the halberds and the greatswords…. This unit is a broad mix of games workshop and Artizan figures. As is the second.. I have also added a small number of greatswords to an existing unit and these are shown below..
A little later then I’d planned, but the first 8 of the PBI Guardsmen are done – only 137 to go…
We have been working on shoring up the seams around here for the last week or so. There have been a few changes on the back end but nothing major. It turns out that there was an error with the old blogspot address and forwarding and in fixing that I junked the followers widget over there on the right. Jester was able to get it back up and running and in the meantime we also added in some Facebook, Google+, and twitter integration over there on the right. Now that we have all this lovely social media connectivity I have decided to hook it all together and start cross posting all the blog posts. So far twitter is working just fine (it actually has been for some time) and the next step is to get the Facebook integration up and working. If everything goes according to plans this will be the first post that shows up over there. UPDATE: It works! We now have our Facebook page setup and it is working. I am starting to see some rumors that tweak the release schedule for this years releases for Warhammer Fantasy and 40k. The previous rumors were that 6th edition was coming out in July. This hasn’t changed, but the next two 40k Codex releases have flip-flopped. I am hearing more and more that the Chaos Legions Codex will be out in may instead of Augst, and that the Dark Angels Codex that was rumored for May will be appearing in September/October. Here is the breakdown that I am seeing – March: Tervigon/Tyrannofex / Space Wolves April: Empire/ New Paints May: 40k Codex / Possible Necron Wave June: Lord of the Rings? July: 6th Edition Sept: Starter Set- Chaos vs Dark Angels Oct: 40k Codex Rest of Year – Hobbit/Lord of the Rings The items in the above that I have the most faith in are the new paints in April and the 40k 6th edition in July. Other than that everything is still a bit fuzzy.
