Learning how to collect, model, paint and play with miniatures is a pretty decent skill set to acquire. So when you decide to go that little bit further and blog about what you’re upto you deserve all of the support you can get. To this end a number of sites have established blogger groups. Some are well known, others less so. Perhaps the most popular example is FromTheWarp , run by Ron. Over the years Ron has developed something of a hub for miniature wargamers and his Blogrolls feature some of the best and brightest blogs in the land. It’s all about blogrolls. If you’re member of one of the blogging groups then every time you post some new content a small excerpt from your post appears on the main site and people visiting the site to find new blogs might see it and start reading your blog. It’s a great tool for people who enjoy reading about what other people are doing with their hobby time.

Flesh Tearers – Death Company

Flesh Tearers – Death Company

The hoard of Flesh Tearers grows with more not-red marines, this time it is the Death Company. There is a lot of black on these guys, but I think all that bling livens it up nicely. And hazard stripes (of course!) Some of them are lucky enough to have glowy bits… These chaps will be riding in a LR crusader, which is built and ready for primer. It will complete the forward edge of the sawblade with the other one. I am thinking of inverting the black/red so the black is forward (with the ‘x’ on the hatches). Thoughts? The unpainted pile is rapidly shrinking, but there is more on the way! More terminators, jumping death co. and a couple of dreads, yay dreaddies! Also, my thanks to Tristan for sending over such dynamically-posed marines! Until next round!

All Killer, No Filler!

All Killer, No Filler!

A long time ago I wrote a post about list building and nearly 18 months on I find myself needing to write another one. This comes as I’m trying to figure out my list for Blog Wars 3 in June. The title of the post sums up my approach to list building. I don’t like there to be anything in my list that’s just there to hug an objective, contest late on or otherwise is just there to spend some left over points. Every unit in my army has a role to play. Ideally every unit is pretty horrible too. This is easier with some armies than others. Let’s take a look at my standard Space Wolves 1,750pt list to see what I mean. This is a very slight modification of the list I took to Blog Wars 2 last year
