Horus Heresy rumors from Bell of Lost Souls : The Horus Heresy book 1 will have rules for playing Space Marine Legions. Each legion gets a unique special rule for all space marines. Each Legion is getting a unique elites option. HQs get some unique wargear based on legion as well. Guard are in the list and operate like platoons from the 40k dex. Essentially being a list within a list needing command + 2 units and can then take others. They can’t blob, but they can be taken in squads up to 30 anyways. Super heavy tanks are in, but are BS4 with space marine crew. Legions have the option of taking allies from other space marine forces, Titans or guard air force. Betrayal has the legion rules for Luna wolves, death guard, emperor’s children and world eaters Primarchs are Apocalypse only and pretty baller.
At last the Life Guard heads have arrived in store, and I’m almost out of stock after only a few hours! I’m really pleased how these have come out, a whole lot better then my early attempts at heads, even if I do say so myself! The sprues have five different heads in them, with two sprues in each pack. I have to give credit to The Black Library for really giving 40K fans lots of opportunities to enjoy the game outside of actual gaming.
As some of you are aware, Mark Mondragon of Dreamforge Games is currently running a Kickstarter to get his jaw-droppinly awesome Leviathan Crusader (and Eisenkern troopers) tooled in plastic. I unforuntately missed out on the resin kits he did a few months back but am all over the opportunity to get in on the KS deal he has going . For an incredibly reasonable $89 you can get the plastic version of the Leviathan, which is an absolute steal! In addition, the Eisenkern infantry are available for a modest $20, and the stretch goals add all sorts of upgrades. He’s also offering a multitude of alternate weapon options as further stretch goal rewards, all of which are swappable on the Leviathan kit. If the Kickstarter really goes well, he’s looking at re-tooling the Leviathan Mortis in plastic as well! There’s still almost two weeks left on the Kickstarter, so there’s plenty of time to get in on the action – I’m really hoping to see this take off, as Mark’s work is absolutely top notch, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of his work! Almost there. The meargh is pretty much finished, the only thing missing being the water effects which will be added to the two pools on her base, so these skulls will be half submerged. I’m pretty happy with how she turned out, she looks high-ranking, but still fits in with the fimm as her robes looks worn and the tone is quite subdued for a blue garment. Being the clan leader, this is about a fancy as fimir get, so I’ll have a good reference now when doing nobles, dirachs and other higher-ranking fimir. The bog water will have to wait until after the weekend though, as she is destined to lead the clan into their first tournament. I’ll also need to make her a floating rock altar on a 50mmx50mm base, which she can magnetise onto if I want to give her a mount. Then I might have a stab at painting either the half-dead or Crom…
