2/27/13: Finished: All-Madden 2045 Necromantic Blood Bowl Team
Got a few solid hours reading time in on Bridge by Bridge last night and there are some seriously strange lists in that book.
I spent a weekend and made some Blood Angel objective markers.
As I’ve mentioned previously, we’re seriously getting into dungeon delving with little man. Our ruleset of choice is the old Heroquest game from MB games. Now, in typical Corbania Prime style, the idea of playing on the board that comes with the game or even the modular card floors that come with GW’s Advanced Heroquest just didn’t seem good enough. This led us to look into ways of making a proper 3D dungeon and ultimately, led us to the Hirst Arts brick molds. Now our dungeon is coming together nicely (I’ll blog about that soon) but little man commented that we needed some more bits for the dungeon because it was a bit bare compared to some of the pictures we’d been looking at online. This led us to buy the dungeon accessories mold which I have to say is brilliant. The mold is designed to create a host of items that you’d find in a dungeon or fantasy setting. There’s a host of barrels, boxes, crates, chest, buckets, sacks, bowls, as well as a really large barrel, treasure pile and other ornaments. There’s even crystals (Necrons anyone?) and a wooden bridge! We’ve only really experimented with the barrels and boxes so far but they really do enhance the dungeon rooms Painting them couldn’t be easier, little man did these with two coats of a foundation brown and a devlan mud wash. With a little added dry brushing, they really do look realistic.
Despite my earlier concerns I’d managed to avoid playing either Necrons or Daemons and instead found myself playing Dave Wigley and his Deathwing. I’d spoken to Dave earlier in the day about how he was finding Deathwing and I was interested to play them to better understand their use. With the tournament running backwards we’d be playing the first mission now which was Purge The Alien on Dawn of War with the additional rules that for each FOC slot you killed something from you got a bonus point e.g. the first time I killed an HQ I’d get 2 points but the second HQ would be worth 1 as normal. Dave was fielding Belial, an Interrogator chaplain (TDA of course), 2 squads of 10 DW terminators (two plasma, two cyclone, rest TH/SS) and some FW missile things. Therefore he’d only got 5 normal points available and 3 bonus points from HQ, Troops and FA. I on the other hand could give away 13 pts with choices from all but Elites (as the wolf guard become troops when they join squads). This was always going to be difficult as I’d need to comfortably table him to score enough points. We were both in a decent position in terms of the rankings too so there were potential podium spots to play for. I couldn’t rely on sheer luck at this stage
I’ve been working on my Iron Warriors pretty slowly since Christmas. In fact I haven’t got the entire army yet and I still need to pick up another Heldrake and two Sorcerers. So far I have done a single Iron Warriors squad, so I decided to get some more done and work on the plasma units. I’ve had this Prince a few weeks now. I managed to finally get some greenstuff and got the additional pair of arms stuck on nicely. Also added some Screamer tendrils to keep in a Tzeentch theme. I may cut off the bottom jaw to make a big mouth like the new Herald of Tzeentch model. I have started another two Iron Warrior squads and Obliterators, though I have a busy weekend with the Throne of Blades tournament, so I doubt I will get any painting done.
I am not too keen on the new GW Chaos war-shrine figure, but I quite wanted to add a war-shrine to my Troll army. My thought process started with a plastic earring which I picked up from a £1 shop. I thought this would make a good pattern for a war-shrine base. After a bit of thinking and a couple of false starts I decided to make the shrine out of cork board.

I am still using my mobile device to post as I have no computer (still trying to figure out which way to go for new one). However, I did finish my February commitment for the IC Challenge! Also pictured is next months commitment, a squad of Screamers.
It’s been a month since I put the poll up and the votes are dying out so it’s time to tally the results. I like doing these polls early on in a codex’s life to get the first impressions and … Continue reading → The post Rok Da Vote: New Dark Angels Codex (Closed) appeared first on Creative Twilight .
