Latest 1,850pt Ravenwing Dark Angels List

Latest 1,850pt Ravenwing Dark Angels List

I’ve been toying around with a few things since I first put a list together. What I have now is a streamlined and deadly list that should be pretty effective. I’m still not doing great with the painting but hopefully that’ll pick up over the next couple of weeks. Here’s what I’m playing with at the moment followed by some detailed analysis of the lot: 1,847pts of Dark Angels Sammael Librarian (bike, ML2) RW Command Squad (Std of Dev, RWGL, Apothecary, Champion) Tactical Squad (plasma gun, plasma cannon, veteran sergeant) RW Attack Squadron (6 bikes, melta, plasma) RW Attack Squadron (6 bikes, melta, plasma) RW Attack Squadron (6 bikes, melta) RW Black Knights (6 bikes, 2 RWGL) RW Black Knights (6 bikes, 2 RWGL) RW Darkshroud Very similar to what I had before. The main difference here is the doubling up of the Black Knights. I’m still a massive fan of these guys as they’re extremely versatile and can be deadly against the right opponents. Previously I had Sammael joining the RW command squad to keep them alive but I’m now playing it with Sammael and the Libby taking a pack of Knights each. This gives me two devastating units.

Army Lists: Dark Angels ‘Ravenwing 2’ – 2,000 points

Army Lists: Dark Angels ‘Ravenwing 2’ – 2,000 points

I am back with another Ravenwing list and this time I have decided to keep it pure Dark Angels. I know Guard allies are good, but I just want to keep it all in one codex this time. Instead of doing the usual waffle of how and why I have chosen X unit, I am just going to make up the list and go from there: Dark Angels ‘Ravenwing’ – 2,000 points HQ Sammael Librarian – mastery level 2, bike & auspex Ravenwing Command Squad – standard of devastation & apothecary Troops 5 x Ravenwing Attack Squad w/ Attack Bike – 2 x meltaguns – Attack Bike w/ multi melta 5 x Ravenwing Attack Squad w/ Attack Bike – 2 x meltaguns – Attack Bike w/ multi melta 5 x Ravenwing Attack Squad w/ Attack Bike – 2 x meltaguns – Attack Bike w/ multi melta 5 x Ravenwing Attack Squad w/ Attack Bike – 2 x plasma guns – Attack Bike w/ multi melta 5 x Ravenwing Attack Squad w/ Attack Bike – 2 x plasma guns – Attack Bike w/ multi melta 5 x Ravenwing Attack Squad w/ Attack Bike – 2 x plasma guns – Attack Bike w/ multi melta 5 x Tactical Marines – missile launcher Aegis Defence Line – quad gun Total: 1,999 Sammy and the Libby partner up with the RCS; this gives the squad more wounds as undoubtedly this squad will be target number 1. RCS has the devastation banner which allows all units within 12″ to re-roll failed morale tests and all units within 3″ to count their boltguns as salvo 2/4; extremely handy when bikes have twin-linked boltguns. It’s unlikely to happen, but a possibility, but if all bikes were in range of the banner then you’re talking round about 150 bolter shots! I have added the apothecary in to give the unit some extra staying power, though I think 30 points for a 5+ feel no pain roll is pretty damn expensive. I have given the Libby mastery level 2 as had points spare, though the invisibility power from the telepathy discipline is very nice, but it's a big 'if' you get it.

Flesh Tearers – Medic!

Flesh Tearers – Medic!

Progress on the Flesh Tearers fares well with the apothecary being finished. I would guess I am on a trend of not-red Flesh Tearers… Like the librarian, I replaced the dark red with his designation colour, in this case white. I snuck in some osl on the backpack… Next up; Death Company. Until next round.

Deathwatch Apothecary

Deathwatch Apothecary

It seems fitting that the apothecary for a Deathwatch team would be a son of Sanguinus. This guy is part of the Flesh Tearer army I am working on, I hear he will be used for RPGing, nice! Other than his armor, he is painted the same as the others. I used a different method for painting black so his shoulder pad would look apart. Also… His arms are magnetized, and he’s got four to choose from (depending on how he feels that morning). The concept of the Deathwatch, marines gathered from different chapters to kill aliens, is a neat one. It seems that Tristan thinks so too, lets hope they all get along. The lucky astartes also has two backpacks! On each of the shoulder pads (except the flamer) there is a buzzsaw, and on each pack a double helix. Of course he has a glowing fist! Arms..

Review: Ultramarine Movie

Review: Ultramarine Movie

I managed to watch this last night and before I even start my review I must say I’m thoroughly impressed. The film is obivously about G.W’s favourite blue home boys but does feature the odd Imperial Fist or two. I missed the start of the plan thanks to a screaming Daughter but what I managed to make out is a Tactical Squad of new recruits has come back from a recent missions and intercept a distress signal. Before I go onto the next paragraph there is spoilers. If you do not want to read then read another article or someone elses blog 😛 As I was saying, Tactical Squad of new recruits along with couple of Servitors, Captain and Apothecary at the only ones on this battle barge which seems a bit weird. As a nice touch in the ships chapel is a large stain glass window which is the same box art from the Battle of Macragge set, pretty cool. Apothecary and Captain have a little speech and the Apothecary gets this cool looking thunder hammer out of a shrine and basically says this is a cool weapon and whoever weilds it is the cheif around here, though the hammer itself is not used in combat by the Captain. The Marines all look like typical Marines with shaven heads, scars and pretty youthful and banter is exchanged among them. Two things I found weird is the age of the Captain and Apothecary who look about 80 odd with wrinkles, liver spots, totally bald and grey eyebrows.

1750- 5th ed Deathwing – In honor of the new DA FAQ

1750- 5th ed Deathwing – In honor of the new DA FAQ

Gotta love GW. Guess what, Deathwing just became viable again. Or maybe not viable, but still fun to play for lulz.
