Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Kinky Fire Dogs’ – 2,000 points

Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Kinky Fire Dogs’ – 2,000 points

Not written an army list for a bit (though have been working on Eldar lists), thought I would have a crack at Chaos Daemons as a few dudes as my local club have started Chaos Daemons and they have spurred me on. Chaos Daemons ‘Kinky Fire Dogs’ – 2,000 points HQ Keeper of Secrets – mastery level 3 & 2 x greater rewards Keeper of Secrets – mastery level 3 & 2 x greater rewards Troops 10 x Pink Horrors 10 x Pink Horrors 10 x Pink Horrors 10 x Pink Horrors Fast Attack 11 x Flesh Hounds 11 x Flesh Hounds Heavy Support Daemon Prince – daemon of slaanesh, warp forged armour, daemonic flight & 2 x greater rewards Daemon Prince – daemon of slaanesh, warp forged armour, daemonic flight & 2 x greater rewards Daemon Prince – daemon of slaanesh, warp forged armour, daemonic flight & 2 x greater rewards Total: 1,997 Sorry about the silly ass list name, couldn’t think of anything good. Yeah, I know, I suck at finding cool names. I do not like horde armies and prefer fast moving shooty armies which are either elite i.e Ravenwing, mech such as Dark Eldar or big ass monsters. Tyranids can knock out many o big monster, but I am not interested in them and found a liking for Chaos Daemons a year ago. Now I know KoS (Keeper of Secrets) aren’t awesome, but with some good luck (luck isn’t a valid tactic, but it is what Chaos Daemons codex goes on as everything is random) the Keepers should get invisibility power (gives stealth and shrouding) on the telepathy psychic power table. Hopefully some good greater rewards will do too such as 4+ feel no pain and 3+ armour save, the extra wound gift will be handy too. The Horrors are there just to camp on objectives and lay down some covering fire.

CSM Raw Power

CSM Raw Power

Out of all the 6th codices which have been rapidly appearing the last nine months, Chaos Space Marines is probably the weakest. Unlike Tau, Eldar, Ravenwing and even Chaos Daemons, Chaos Space Marines do not having anything uber cool and destructive. All they have is the old units along with a few new units put into a hardback book. Hell they do not even have an army wide special rule as standard, they have to pay for Veterans of the Long War. Tau get supporting fire, Eldar battlefocus etc. So I am having my little moan about CSM, but I am not going to give up on them. In recent games I’ve found the way to get things done is the old fashioned way and that’s a shit load of bolters for infantry and some hard ass support. Looking through the codex here are the hard ass units: Abaddon the Despoiler – Serious choppy in combat, 4 attacks base,

E-Mail: CSM & CD army list questions (flying circus and stuff)‏

E-Mail: CSM & CD army list questions (flying circus and stuff)‏

Hey mark! hows it hanging? For the past couple of days, there is an urge inside me to create a flying circus list with Daemons with chaos allies. Ive just been curious. Ive always played either with alot of troops or just enough to get me by, so i thought id mix it up a bit and play with lots of the big stuff! so heres the list: (the list is 1850, and i know how much you hate 1850 :P) HQ: Bloodthirster: 290 – 2 greater Keeper of Secrets: 245 -greater & exalted (portal), ML2 (telepathy) CSM DP: 315 – Tzeentch, Mace, Armour, Wings, ML2 (1 tzeentch [cause i have to] & biomancy)

Many Daemon lists – which one is the best?

Many Daemon lists – which one is the best?

I have been hard at work trying to make some viable Chaos Daemons lists lately. As I mentioned in this post

Obliterator Daemon Prince WIP

Obliterator Daemon Prince WIP

Damn, I haven’t been here for a while. It’s been rough 2 months for me. I missed Tau release and some other things. So I decided to do at least something and furthermore to show off a little. Here are photos of my latest creation. An Obliterator Daemon Prince for my Iron Warriors army.

Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Slaanesh’ – 2,000 points

Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Slaanesh’ – 2,000 points

I hear that Slaanesh is the best Chaos God in the Daemons codex. I am not going to disagree with this nor am I going to agree with it (I think Nurgle is pretty cool), but you do get some damn wicked benefits when using Daemons of Slaanesh. Core When building Slaanesh and looking at the HQ I immediately think of Keeper of Secrets. Now I really like the Keeper, though I have play tested it a few times and found it to be a bit meh. It is not mega quick getting into combat and can be dakka’d down. You can save it’s bacon by taking mastery level 2 and getting the invisibility power on the telepathy table, but that’s a big risk. So instead of dual Keepers as I am going to go with something which in theory is more survivable; flying Daemon Prince. I will kit the Prince up with wings, 3+ armour save, daemon of slaanesh and throw on two greater rewards. Switch one of the rewards you do not want for lash of depair and you have a Prince which can fire 2D6 S6 shots at 12″. The range on the lash isn’t impressive, but when you factor in the Prince can move maximum 24″ a turn that’s a threat range of 36″

3/25/13: Gaming: Taking the Chaos Codex to Strange, New, Levels

Hey guys! So I’ve been painting my butt off this weekend, should have pictures of the finished Imperial Guard commission by Tuesday. I’ve also got my Senior Art portfolio due, so we’ll see how that bad boy goes. This, however, doesn’t mean I haven’t had a chance to play some games! My class was canceled on Friday, so a buddy and I headed down to the shop to get a game of 40k in. My list was: 1500 Point Chaos List Chaos Lord with Jump Pack, Sigil of Corruption, Murder Sword, and Mark of Tzeentch. Chaos Sorcerer (Mastery Level 2) with Sigil of Corruption, Burning Brand of Skalathrax, Spell Familiar, and Mark of Tzeentch. Five-man Warp Talon squad with 1 Gift of Chaos. 2x Five-man Chosen Squads with 3 Combi-Plasma, 2 Combi-Melta, and a Lightning Claw in Rhinos with Extra Armour and Combi-Melta. 2x Twenty-man Cultist Squads with 10 Autoguns.
