Army Lists: Eldar ‘Serpent Spam’ – 2,000 points

Army Lists: Eldar ‘Serpent Spam’ – 2,000 points

I am thinking of running the below for my Eldar force. Yup I know it is spam wagon, but I like fast moving shooty vehicles and really how can you pass on Wave Serpents? Eldar ‘Serpent Spam’ – 2,000 points HQ Spiritseer Troops 5 x Wraithguard w/ Wave Serpent – Serpent w/ twin-linked scatter lasers & holofields 5 x Wraithguard w/ Wave Serpent – Serpent w/ twin-linked scatter lasers & holofields 5 x Dire Avengers w/ Wave Serpent – Serpent w/ twin-linked scatter lasers & holofields 5 x Dire Avengers w/ Wave Serpent – Serpent w/ twin-linked scatter lasers & holofields 5 x Dire Avengers w/ Wave Serpent – Serpent w/ twin-linked scatter lasers & holofields 5 x Dire Avengers w/ Wave Serpent – Serpent w/ twin-linked scatter lasers & holofields Fast Attack Vyper – shuriken cannon Vyper – shuriken cannon Heavy Support 2 x War Walkers – 4 x scatter lasers 2 x War Walkers – 4 x scatter lasers 2 x War Walkers – 4 x scatter lasers Total: 2,000 So I finally settled on Wraithguard over Fire Dragons. Big reason is they can score with a Spiritseer and are plastic models. I know the Dragons are better at av14 destruction, but double Wraithguard units should destroy av14 together easy enough, plus how much av14 do you see? I can also spiritmark an av14 unit and both Wraithguard units can re-roll to 1’s to hit on it. Another reason for Wraithguard is because I like the Spiritseer powers better. You get two powers for the price of one, so essentially you are getting four powers on a mastery level 2 psyker. Also all powers are warp charge one, so can use multiple powers each turn

X vs Y: Eldar Wraithguard vs Fire Dragons

X vs Y: Eldar Wraithguard vs Fire Dragons

I have been looking at Wraithguard in the new Eldar codex and really fancy using them. Fire Dragons offer almost the same thing for a fair bit cheaper. Choices choices.. Wraithguard Wraithguard come in a unit of 5 and cost 160 points. For that you get a Space Marine profile but with S5 and T6. Wraithguard do not get the Eldar army rule of battle focus, which means they will bail out and will have to walk into cover or stand in the open. They are also bulky so taking double the amount of room in a Wave Serpent. They do get fearless which means they are not running away if needed to take morale tests for any reason. They also have the ancient doom rule too. The T6 will keep them protected from small arms fire, though anti tank weapons will be punching holes through them, however if anti tank weapons are firing at your Wraithguard (who have hopefully already done their job) then your vehicles are not being shot at

Army Lists: Two Eldar Lists – 2,000 points

Army Lists: Two Eldar Lists – 2,000 points

I have been pondering about the below two Eldar lists. Will be a long project for me as got my wedding coming up in September. Be nice to play the Eldar again 🙂 Eldar ‘List 1’ – 2,000 points HQ Autarch – eldar jetbike, fusion gun, mantle of the laughing god & firesabre Elite 5 x Fire Dragons w/ Wave Serpent – twin-linked scatter lasers & holofield 5 x Fire Dragons w/ Wave Serpent – twin-linked scatter lasers & holofield Troops 10 x Dire Avengers w/ Wave Serpent – twin-linked brightlance & holofield 10 x Dire Avengers w/ Wave Serpent – twin-linked brightlance & holofield 10 x Dire Avengers w/ Wave Serpent – twin-linked brightlance & holofield 10 x Guardians Fast Attack 5 x Warp Spiders 5 x Warp Spiders Heavy Support Fire Prism – holofield Fire Prism – holofield Total: 2,010 This is my first drafted list based off my original list. From the original I dropped a unit of Fire Dragons as I do not feel they are need any more. I have added Warp Spiders and a unit of Guardians. I was hoping to get an ADL with quad gun in, but no luck 🙁 Tactics are all theory, but basically zoom up moving flat out to get 3+ cover save thanks to holofields. If night fighting is in play will be 2+ cover save is distance is right. Warp Spiders jump up too. On turn 2 rock up, bail out, unleash brightlances and fusion to slag vehicles, shuri to maul infantry and Fire Prisms to blast infantry to kingdom come or crack open tough vehicles. While all the above is happening the Autarch zooms about slagging transport vehicles and then assaulting what is inside or tackles weak troops or camping units etc

Dungeons and Dragons

Dungeons and Dragons

Whenever you mention a role playing game to someone, there is a big chance that the person that you are talking to is going to think of Dungeons and Dragons straight away. And this is with good reason. Dungeons and Dragons (short D&D ) is by far the most known and popular role playing game in the entire world. Even if you don’t play RPG games you probably heard of D&D. D&D appears everywhere. The most popular computer games in the world are based on this game. Just remember games like Baldur’s gate, Planescape Torment, Neverwinter Nights, or even older ones like Menzoberanzan and Ravenloft! Maybe you saw the Dungeons and Dragons movies. Add to all this the piles of novels and books that are written for the different D&D worlds. So yeah, you probably heard of Dungeons and Dragons.

Runebound

Runebound

In the magical land of Terrinoth, many adventures await. Dragons have raided the land and their armies and followers are everywhere, making trouble for the people. Rumors are that the dragons were summoned by the evil necromancer Vorakesh and now his undead minions aid them. Heroes emerge from different directions of the world to help save the land and to defeat the dragon lord Margath. If he is slain, Terrinoth will know peace again. Runebound is a game of adventuring, battle and heroism. It is playable by 1 to 6 players. The players will be playing the heroes that have risen against the oppression of the dragons and their armies. By questing in the wilderness and defeating the enemies of the once peaceful lands, they will become legendary and in the end challenge the dragons themselves

Battle Report: Imperial Guard vs Eldar – 2,000 points

Report from game with John from Friday night. He’s beat me twice in a row which kind of annoys me, lol, especially when it was against my beloved Blood Angels. Can the hammer of the Emperor score a upset against his xeno scum? Imperial Guard “Steel Lions” – 2,000 points HQ Company Command Squad –

Army Lists: Eldar “Wave-Walkers” – 2,000 points

Army Lists: Eldar “Wave-Walkers” – 2,000 points

My mate John plays Eldar. He’s just got back into the game late last year and has found things are slightly different from 2nd edition, lol. I tend to play him once a week and as you know I use more “competitive” lists as some people like to say, though I prefer the term “structured” list. So, Eldar, I used to play them after getting roped into the codex but I got shut of them last year. Never been a fan of the annoying, geeky, goody attitude from them. Kind of like Ultramarines I guess 😛 . Anyway fluff aside they was a fun army to play even if certain units (i.e Wave Serpents) are a tad on the expensive side. Starting off John likes War Walkers so the list will be themed with them. I’m going to add EMLs onto these as like normal missile launchers they are a great all round weapon but the frag is better than a normal one 😉

D and D Online

D and D Online

Every so often I stray of topic and this is one of these times =O) D and D online well?… Just within the last year I have started to play Dungeons & Dragons, a fantasy adventure game with my friends/game testers for Three Plains, who just dragged me into it. Well I have to say it really enjoy playing the game now when I can. I’m a 7 th level human Ranger called Gulliver and my backstory is:… basically adventure to escape from the wife, Grotina. Say no more on that front I think… but lol the lads joke about a game there they face her to rescue me from her and slay once and for all . But setting up a game takes time and some organising too, especially if you are DM-ing it. So then I found out about playing D and D online, I was really interested to learn more. It turns out there are a few recently online D&D games out at the moment and one in production. The small popular one and
