Fateweaver – worth it?

Fateweaver – worth it?

I have been considering Fateweaver in a Chaos Daemons list recently. Thought I would whip up a post seeing what you can do with the ol’ two headed big bird. Oracle of Eternity Fateweaver is a weaker form of a monstrous creature; S5 and T5. Rubbish in combat thanks to WS1, I2 and A1, so never get bird into close combat. Fatey does have a 4+ invulnerable save however, which I believe is the best invulnerable save a big monster gets. Fateweaver is also a flying monstrous creature, so vector strikes, which is actually better than Fatey’s close combat attacks as gets at least two attacks and auto hits. Fateweaver has the Lord of Unreality warlord traits which lets you re-roll warp storm table results – very handy if you get something rubbish like -1 invulnerable saves or the random character takes a daemonic instability test on 3D6. He also is a psyker, an unusual one put it this way.

Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Kinky Fire Dogs’ – 2,000 points

Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Kinky Fire Dogs’ – 2,000 points

Not written an army list for a bit (though have been working on Eldar lists), thought I would have a crack at Chaos Daemons as a few dudes as my local club have started Chaos Daemons and they have spurred me on. Chaos Daemons ‘Kinky Fire Dogs’ – 2,000 points HQ Keeper of Secrets – mastery level 3 & 2 x greater rewards Keeper of Secrets – mastery level 3 & 2 x greater rewards Troops 10 x Pink Horrors 10 x Pink Horrors 10 x Pink Horrors 10 x Pink Horrors Fast Attack 11 x Flesh Hounds 11 x Flesh Hounds Heavy Support Daemon Prince – daemon of slaanesh, warp forged armour, daemonic flight & 2 x greater rewards Daemon Prince – daemon of slaanesh, warp forged armour, daemonic flight & 2 x greater rewards Daemon Prince – daemon of slaanesh, warp forged armour, daemonic flight & 2 x greater rewards Total: 1,997 Sorry about the silly ass list name, couldn’t think of anything good. Yeah, I know, I suck at finding cool names. I do not like horde armies and prefer fast moving shooty armies which are either elite i.e Ravenwing, mech such as Dark Eldar or big ass monsters. Tyranids can knock out many o big monster, but I am not interested in them and found a liking for Chaos Daemons a year ago. Now I know KoS (Keeper of Secrets) aren’t awesome, but with some good luck (luck isn’t a valid tactic, but it is what Chaos Daemons codex goes on as everything is random) the Keepers should get invisibility power (gives stealth and shrouding) on the telepathy psychic power table. Hopefully some good greater rewards will do too such as 4+ feel no pain and 3+ armour save, the extra wound gift will be handy too. The Horrors are there just to camp on objectives and lay down some covering fire.

Top Chaos Daemon Units

Top Chaos Daemon Units

Want to know the best units in the Chaos Daemons codex? Then take a butchers below. * These units are not ranked in any particular order 1. Bloodthirster The Bloodthirster is the ultimate bad ass and taker of names. The big red dude rocks with a typical monstrous creature profile and brings a mighty WS10, BS10, W5, I9 and A6 – this dude is seriously laying down the hurt. The Bloodthirster comes with a 3+ armour save, lash of khorne (S6 AP2 pistol) and axe of khorne (wound of 6+ is instagib). As the ‘Thirster is a daemon of khorne it gets furious charge, S7 smashy. Bloodthirster has options of daemonic rewards; best taking a couple of greater rewards as they give survivable buffs. If you take the normal greater reward, which is the blade of blood, then the Bloodthirster gets the rampage special rule (+D3 attacks if out numbered in close combat) and would get

More Flesh Hounds Painted

Keeping up with the Daemon craze, here is another five Flesh Hounds I finished. Pretty similar to the ones I painted last week since they are from the same unit and I wanted to keep the colour scheme consistent.

Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Speed Daemons’ – 2,000 points

Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Speed Daemons’ – 2,000 points

As Daemons are primarily an assault army then you really want to look at the fast moving units, after all you do not want slow asses lumbering up the field and getting shot to pieces i.e Bloodletters. To start off the Speed Daemons list I am going to throw in a Bloodthirster. Anything which has wings is going to be fast plus the Bloodthirster is an awesome ass kicker. I will throw on two greater rewards, which with good rolling can make the Bloodthirster into a flying big ass devil. I fancy some Daemon Princes in the list for anti air support, the are expensive and the lash reward is random, but it is all Daemons have got. Two of these will do nicely and I'll take on them daemonic flight, warp forged armour & 2 x greater rewards. At the moment I am in double FOC territory, I have the option of taking a Keeper of Secrets (anything slaanesh is fast) which will add another monstrous creature into the army or use the points to inject into other areas of the army. I think I will go the Keeper route and take two greater rewards along with mastery level 2 psyker, hopefully can get invisibility on the telepathy table. Onto fast attack then seems this list is all about being fast.

E-Mail: 1850 CSM + Daemons

E-Mail: 1850 CSM + Daemons

Hey Mark, Since the chaos daemons codex got released, this army list keeps coming into my head. For me it sounds like a great idea, but when you actually start thinking about it there is a lot of flaws. I just cant seem to find a way to fix this list. HQ: Huron – 160 Great Unclean One – 280 Mastery Lvl. 3, 2 greater rewards Troops: 10 Cultists – 50 10 Cultists – 50 15 Marines – 250 MoN 15 Plaguebearers – 140 Plagueridden 20 Bloodletters – 225 Bloodreaper, Lesser Reward, Icon of Chaos Fast Attack: Heldrake – 170 Baleflamer 10 Flesh hounds – 160 Heavy Support: Maulerfiend – 125 Magma cutters Maulerfiend – 125 Magma cutters Fortification: ADL – 100 Quad-gun Total: 1835 The plan is fairly simple, Plaguebearers stay with the ADL and shoot the Quad. Cultists hide. Huron goes with 15 Marines and hold midfield objectives. Everything else just charges down to the enemy line (helps with hurons infiltrating trait), drowning the enemy with targets. I know that i cant deal with vehicles from range and flyers. I have thought about switching huron for prob a lord

Cruelty of Translation. Part 4. The Rulebook.

Cruelty of Translation. Part 4. The Rulebook.

Now let us talk about the greatest mistake of Games Workshop’s policy in Russia. Well, actually its greatest mistake is the absence of official GW shops around here, but the translation of 6th ed rulebook is also a very big fail. Since the release of Grey Knights Codex, GW by some unknown reasons, stopped working with Z, so neither GK, nor Necron codecies were not translated. But suddenly, with the official GW announcement of 6th ed starter set release, we get a message from our local tabletop-gaming (or how do they called in english?) stores, that we can pre-order a Russian version of Dark Vengeance! I bet, you understand, how everyone was happy about it, especially the owners of Dark Angels and Chaos Space Marines armies. But no one could ever know, about how GW translated the rulebook without Z. By the way, I should mention, that Z have only had 1 mistake in two 40k Rulebooks they translated (4ed. and 5ed.). The mistake was in the Poisoned weapons text, where they forgot to write that you can re-roll to wound if you have the same strength as enemy’s toughness. Indeed, this is bad mistake, but it’s not like the end of the world
