2/4/13: Less than Two Weeks from Genghis-Con!

2/4/13: Less than Two Weeks from Genghis-Con!

Hey guys! Just a quick post today, I didn’t get a lot of painting done over the weekend, though I’ve got some pieces built; should have pictures of those tomorrow! Brian’s Necromantic Blood Bowl Team WIP. Pretty cool models for being almost as old as I am! For all of you in Colorado and, most importantly, the Denver area, we’re going to be down from the 16th-18th for Genghis Con 2013! I couldn’t get a 40k army I was happy with together in time, so I’m only entering the painting competition and planning on shooting the breeze and drinking the weekend away. RTGamer, on the other hand, has the better part of a Warriors of Chaos army to get through. So, wish him luck, hoping he gets them done in time and doesn’t just cop out and take Vampires (I’m calling you out RTGamer!). Anyways, I’ve got a couple pieces I’m planning on entering. Primarily is my baby, the Giant Chaos Spawn. Should hold its own in the grand scheme of things and, while I don’t expect it to win overall, I’d love to walk away with some awards. Secondly, I’m thinking about throwing in an older squad of mine after I redo their bases. I love my Imperial Guard army, even if I don’t play it very often.

Ogre Auction! Get them before they get skinny!

Ogre Auction! Get them before they get skinny!

A friend of mine is selling his painted Ogre Kingdoms army! I don’t know why, I guess he’s not cool enough to body slam people with his sweaty Ogres… He bought them about a year ago to get some fresh air and to play an army that was not his Dark Elves, which were curb-stomping many of the armies at the store. The army has everything you need to start your very own Ogre Kingdoms army and they are painted in a which I’m sure my friend will share with you if you dare to ask. Plus it has a Giant, and Giants are friggin’ cool! Check the link down below and if you are personally not interested… why not share it with your friends? And if you do end up buying this army, tell my friend that you saw it first on Wolves for the Wolf God. I leave you with my buddy’s words to you : This is an Ogre Kingdoms army as seen in the picture. I am looking to unload one of my armies to make room for another and this is the one. With the exception of the giant and 2nd butcher the army is fully painted, and half based. There are also Gut Magic markers included, movement trays, and all of my extra ogre bits including 24 gnoblars that are not pictured

Ogre Kingdoms (Slave)Giants: Are they worth it?

Ogre Kingdoms (Slave)Giants: Are they worth it?

Hello, hello, hello. Long time no see, I know, but as always I have been a busy little gamer! As promised, the shiny, new Ogres have been built and have seen some tabletop action against the other races of Warhammer. But we are here to discuss GIANTS ! My Ogre Kingdoms Giant! As a leftover from my unsuccessful Orcs and Goblins Waaaagh, my Giant quickly found his place in my Ogre Kingdoms list, even at 1000 pt. games. At first, he was just a giant point-sink – something worth 200 points that allowed me to quickly fill-up a list. Add to the fact that Giants are quick to field, sturdy, easy to transport (no puny, fiddly details, not finecast – just good ole plastic!) and you can see why I decided to include one in my previous army. Heck, the previous sentence is also the reason why I’m playing Ogre Kingdoms in the first place.. So.. what do you get

Tournament Report: Dwarves vs. Orcs & Goblins

Tournament Report: Dwarves vs. Orcs & Goblins

Call to Arms 2011: Karak Eight Peaks WHFB Campaign Event Game 2 vs. Neil Williamson Scenario: Chokepoint from WD March 2011 Chokepoint is a variation on battleline that awards extra VP for getting across to the other side of the board (100 VP per unit in the enemys half of table) and for claiming the centre point of the table (army with most “models” within 12″ of centre gets 250VP). Up against Neil’s Goblin horde which included one unit of 80 Night Goblins, but thankfully no Fanatics although he did have a Mangler Squig which is worse – but at least you know where it is. The scenario also included a special rule that meant everybody hated everybody, and if you already hated them then you got eternal hatred. So non-stop re-rolls every combat round for me. Deployment pre-scouts. The ruins we played as hard cover forests. Neil would place some Orcs, a Giant and two Chariots down to the right of the swamp in the bottom left of the picture. My Rangers went down in the ruins with the big dice on top of it. The Night Goblin Horde – 50 shots in volley fire if it didnt move!!! Rangers deploy in charge range of Neils right flank
