Rebel Grots Basilisk PIP: Playing with an airbrush!
Hello all, I’ve been slowly plugging through a Basilisk scratch-build for my Rebel Grots.
Hello all, I’ve been slowly plugging through a Basilisk scratch-build for my Rebel Grots.
Hello all, I’ve finally made it: the first basilisk for my Rebel Grots is ready for paint!
Hello all, It’s been another busy week but I did manage to get a little done on a basilisk I’ve been building for my counts-as-IG Rebel Grots.
As mentioned lately, I’m finally getting through a funk I’ve been in lately with 40K. One thing that keeps getting to me, hobby-wise, is the daunting amount of painting I have left to do. I can put down an 1,850 … Continue reading → The post Hobby: Getting Back in the Saddle appeared first on Creative Twilight .
Hey guys! So I’ve been painting my butt off, and got a lot done in the last couple of days! Lets skip the small talk and get right into everything! First off is a Realms of Battle Board done for a shop in Farmington, New Mexico. I know, doing a terrain piece for a shop in Farmington when I manage the shop in Durango is a little bit of a conflict of interests, but it will foster the hobby overall in the long run, so I'm happy to do it.
Welcome to ” The Alpha Legiondary Journey ” series, which is going to be my way of communicating, sharing and brainstorming with you – the blogosphere and wargaming community – as I slowly create a 2,000 points Alpha Legion-themed list to be used with the Warhammer 40,000 6th Edition ruleset. Originally I was thinking of calling this segment ” Alpha Legioning it Up “, but I’m pretty sure the fact that English is not my native tongue isn’t the only reason why this title is unpronounceable. Yeesh. My name is Skarvald the Troll-faced and I will be your host. Haha. Let’s start with the foundation of what “The Alpha Legiondary Journey” is trying to accomplish: GOAL:
Most people will have probably seen them by now but yesterday GW posted some new FAQs for the current collection of codices. It might be coincidence but it seems that they always release them the week before I go to one of their doubles events. Anyway, as usual here’s a rundown of the most significant changes. Nothing too exciting except for the Tau thing at the bottom. Rulebook Stats can be modified to 0 except Initiative which can’t go below 1. Wounds from blast markers need to be kept separate as they’re capable of hitting models that the firer can’t see. Makes sense I suppose as a high explosive round could still hit those guys round the corner of the building with shrapnel. Split fire can’t be used to blow up a vehicle for the rest of the squad to fire on the occupants.
When I got into 40k six years ago G.W’s prices wasn’t too bad, I would say reasonable for what you get. For example a Tactical Squad would cost £18 which equals £1.80 per Space Marine. Terminators were £25 a box which is £5 per Terminator. Those prices aren’t too bad. Over the years G.W has been increased the prices of their products. Terminators are now £28 a box while Tactical Marines are £23 a box. This equals £5.60 per Terminator and £2.30 per Tactical Marine, prices have increased 50p-60p per model. This doesn’t sound a lot but when you combine that together you’re talking £3-£5 extra per box. When you’re doing an army where everything has increased £3-£5 per box you’re talking a lot of extra cost.
Hello all, Since there are very few actual Rebel Grot models I need to do a lot of conversions to build a full army.
