Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Kinky Fire Dogs’ – 2,000 points

Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Kinky Fire Dogs’ – 2,000 points

Not written an army list for a bit (though have been working on Eldar lists), thought I would have a crack at Chaos Daemons as a few dudes as my local club have started Chaos Daemons and they have spurred me on. Chaos Daemons ‘Kinky Fire Dogs’ – 2,000 points HQ Keeper of Secrets – mastery level 3 & 2 x greater rewards Keeper of Secrets – mastery level 3 & 2 x greater rewards Troops 10 x Pink Horrors 10 x Pink Horrors 10 x Pink Horrors 10 x Pink Horrors Fast Attack 11 x Flesh Hounds 11 x Flesh Hounds Heavy Support Daemon Prince – daemon of slaanesh, warp forged armour, daemonic flight & 2 x greater rewards Daemon Prince – daemon of slaanesh, warp forged armour, daemonic flight & 2 x greater rewards Daemon Prince – daemon of slaanesh, warp forged armour, daemonic flight & 2 x greater rewards Total: 1,997 Sorry about the silly ass list name, couldn’t think of anything good. Yeah, I know, I suck at finding cool names. I do not like horde armies and prefer fast moving shooty armies which are either elite i.e Ravenwing, mech such as Dark Eldar or big ass monsters. Tyranids can knock out many o big monster, but I am not interested in them and found a liking for Chaos Daemons a year ago. Now I know KoS (Keeper of Secrets) aren’t awesome, but with some good luck (luck isn’t a valid tactic, but it is what Chaos Daemons codex goes on as everything is random) the Keepers should get invisibility power (gives stealth and shrouding) on the telepathy psychic power table. Hopefully some good greater rewards will do too such as 4+ feel no pain and 3+ armour save, the extra wound gift will be handy too. The Horrors are there just to camp on objectives and lay down some covering fire.

Hobby: CSM Havoc blastmaster conversions

Hobby: CSM Havoc blastmaster conversions

Done these bad boys yesterday. Used Kromlech shoulder pads and heads and then took the normal CSM heavy bolter and removed the barrel and ammo feed. Then added daemon head for the barrel and some electrical cables for details etc. Will be finishing the Vindicator tonight; got to highlight the pink and dry brush the flesh some more.

Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Daemonzilla’ – 2,000 points

Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Daemonzilla’ – 2,000 points

Over the next few days I’ll be pumping out some Daemon lists. First one I’ll be knocking out is a Daemonzilla list, everyone loves big monsters, right? Starting with the HQ then, I’ll take a Bloodthirster as this is the monster of monsters. Throw on two greater rewards for survival boosting, easy peasy. Next need some anti air support and we will get that from Daemon Princes. The Princes need to have lash of despair (S:User assault 2D6) which will damage flyers nicely, don’t forget vector strike. To take lash of despair the Prince needs to be a daemon of slaanesh. Add in wings of course and then warp forged armour to keep this dude safe.

Example “Competition” Entry and an Actual Competition!

Example “Competition” Entry and an Actual Competition!

Here’s one of the responses I received to my April Fool’s Day fake competition yesterday morning. I’ve removed the name to protect the victim but I think the content kinda gives it away! The other responses I’m keeping to myself since they actually made me feel guilty with genuine reasons why they should win: Alex, You are a crazy bastard! OK, I’ll bite… The Kabal of the Pink Mother Fuckers has been lying low for a while, waiting for reinforcements to arrive.. the sight of a screaming Razorwing Jetfighter dropping in from the clouds on PINK wings and reaping a heavy toll on the enemy is where it is at! I guess I have to sell it here.. blackmail? Hmmm… I promise not to win Blog Wars 3 if you drop me the Razorwing and Battleforce? lol. I’ll take any list you want me to.

Caylus Magna Carta

Caylus Magna Carta

My last couple of game reviews were dominated by very fast and intense games. It kind of culminated with the fastest possible game – Frenzy (check out my last article if you already didn’t!), but now I’m going to slow things down a bit. To be honest, I don’t like fast, real-time, intense games so much. Every once in a while I’ll play them, if nothing else then so I can get new writing material for tabletophell.com, but what I really enjoy are more slow, strategy dominated, mind fighting games. After just a couple of games of Frenzy I was so stressed like someone put me in a cage with lions So…. here we are back on my territory, my natural habitat with Caylus Magna Carta. Name of the game may sound familiar to you because there is a game named simply Caylus. It is the board game version of this game, which actually came out first. After they made quite a success with Caylus, Ystari Games and its creator William Attia simplified it a bit and made card game out of it. Final product was a complete success, just like its predecessor.

Midwest Monster Lab – Check Out These Pink Horrors

Midwest Monster Lab – Check Out These Pink Horrors

Every so often I will come across something that just inspires me. When I saw these models today something just clicked – This picture comes from the guys over at Midwest Monster Labs. These models just work for me. For my army I used Wood Elf Dryads for my Pink Horrors, at the time the plastic kits weren’t out. Seeing this shot really makes me want to pick up a few boxes of the plastic Pink Horrors and paint them up.

Slaaneshi Whore Lord's Arachnophilia: How to paint eight-legged freaks! Part I

Slaaneshi Whore Lord's Arachnophilia: How to paint eight-legged freaks! Part I

Slaaneshi Whore Lord from the first It came from 4chan article sent me some more stuff from his little workshop in Germany. This time he talks about the trials and tribulations of painting Arachnarok Spiders, Warbosses on spiders and he is asking you to help him decide how to paint his gobbos! So sit back, relax and read SWL's quick and easy guest post guide on painting creepy crawlies using the power of washes! While far from standard, this might be the technique that your army with over 9000 models needs.
