Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Kinky Fire Dogs’ – 2,000 points

Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Kinky Fire Dogs’ – 2,000 points

Not written an army list for a bit (though have been working on Eldar lists), thought I would have a crack at Chaos Daemons as a few dudes as my local club have started Chaos Daemons and they have spurred me on. Chaos Daemons ‘Kinky Fire Dogs’ – 2,000 points HQ Keeper of Secrets – mastery level 3 & 2 x greater rewards Keeper of Secrets – mastery level 3 & 2 x greater rewards Troops 10 x Pink Horrors 10 x Pink Horrors 10 x Pink Horrors 10 x Pink Horrors Fast Attack 11 x Flesh Hounds 11 x Flesh Hounds Heavy Support Daemon Prince – daemon of slaanesh, warp forged armour, daemonic flight & 2 x greater rewards Daemon Prince – daemon of slaanesh, warp forged armour, daemonic flight & 2 x greater rewards Daemon Prince – daemon of slaanesh, warp forged armour, daemonic flight & 2 x greater rewards Total: 1,997 Sorry about the silly ass list name, couldn’t think of anything good. Yeah, I know, I suck at finding cool names. I do not like horde armies and prefer fast moving shooty armies which are either elite i.e Ravenwing, mech such as Dark Eldar or big ass monsters. Tyranids can knock out many o big monster, but I am not interested in them and found a liking for Chaos Daemons a year ago. Now I know KoS (Keeper of Secrets) aren’t awesome, but with some good luck (luck isn’t a valid tactic, but it is what Chaos Daemons codex goes on as everything is random) the Keepers should get invisibility power (gives stealth and shrouding) on the telepathy psychic power table. Hopefully some good greater rewards will do too such as 4+ feel no pain and 3+ armour save, the extra wound gift will be handy too. The Horrors are there just to camp on objectives and lay down some covering fire.

E-Mail: CSM & CD army list questions (flying circus and stuff)‏

Hey mark! hows it hanging? For the past couple of days, there is an urge inside me to create a flying circus list with Daemons with chaos allies. Ive just been curious. More High Elf lists – planning for next WHFB tournie

Another night where rather than get some work done I decide to make another collection of lists from the new High Elf book, which by the way gets better everytime you read it.

High Elf Army Lists – the joys of a new book

As would be expected I've spent a lot of time since Wednesday coming up with new High Elf army lists from the new book all with the intent of re-creating my 2400pt Tournament list to make best use of the new toys.

New Tau Codex Unit Reviews – XV88 Broadsides

New Tau Codex Unit Reviews – XV88 Broadsides

Continuing my, so far very wordy, series of unit reviews we come to another of the big talking points of the new Tau codex: Broadsides losing their S10 railguns to be replaced with S8. The only place you can now get the old S10 version is on the Hammerhead but I’ll get to them later. So are Broadsides still a strong choice in the new book? Before I go any further I want make a quick point about the new models. Whilst they’re stunning models I’ve never really liked the suit holding the gun, preferring the shoulder mount. It’s an iconic look in my opinion. The difficulty is that I’ll be running them in tournaments where I can see people complaining that they’re smaller and hence offer a gaming advantage. The solution is expensive as each Broaside costs £30 (less as I buy them at discount) meaning the units I like to run would cost £120 total (£96 with 20% discount).

Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Daemonzilla’ – 2,000 points

Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Daemonzilla’ – 2,000 points

Over the next few days I’ll be pumping out some Daemon lists. First one I’ll be knocking out is a Daemonzilla list, everyone loves big monsters, right? Starting with the HQ then, I’ll take a Bloodthirster as this is the monster of monsters. Throw on two greater rewards for survival boosting, easy peasy. Next need some anti air support and we will get that from Daemon Princes. The Princes need to have lash of despair (S:User assault 2D6) which will damage flyers nicely, don’t forget vector strike. To take lash of despair the Prince needs to be a daemon of slaanesh. Add in wings of course and then warp forged armour to keep this dude safe.

So, Daemons then..

So, Daemons then..

..are coming soon. On one hand this makes me excited; new toys to play with and new rules to learn. On the other hand is causes me panic; is my Daemon army going to need more money and time put into it? Will models I have now become next to useless? The one problem with 40k is its money pit, especially when new codices are released. I am more interested in changes to current released models at the moment, luckily for me I do not use any of the none named Greater Daemons, Daemonettes and Bloodletters. What I am interested in is Fateweaver, Flamers, Plaguebearers, Screamers and Daemon Princes. Fateweaver I expect will stay the same. Existing special characters in the CSM and D.A codices haven’t changed much. I wouldn’t be surprised if the points went up, however 333 points for the two headed chicken is a lot and I hope it doesn’t increase

Army Lists: Daemons and more Daemons

Army Lists: Daemons and more Daemons

I’ve been thinking about my Daemons army the last day or so; why have I got 30 Plaguebearers when I can have more Screamers? In particular I have been thinking about this because I have entered two escalation leagues and as the points increase I am limited to what I can add. For your info here’s my current Daemon army: Herald of Tzeentch – chariot of tzeentch, master of sorcery, we are legion & bolt of tzeentch Herald of Tzeentch – chariot of tzeentch, master of sorcery, we are legion & bolt of tzeentch Herald of Tzeentch – chariot of tzeentch, master of sorcery, we are legion & bolt of tzeentch The Masque 5 x Flamers of Tzeentch 5 x Flamers of Tzeentch 5 x Flamers of Tzeentch 10 x Plaguebearers of Nurgle 10 x Plaguebearers of Nurgle 5 x Plaguebearers of Nurgle 5 x Plaguebearers of Nurgle 6 x Screamers of Tzeentch 6 x Screamers of Tzeentch Soul Grinder – phelgm Soul Grinder – phelgm Soul Grinder – phelgm The reason I like this list is because it gives a lot of target saturation, plus it really annoys a lot of people, they just hate it ;). Also, it’s not the internet norm of Fatey, Bloodthirster, Horrors and several Princes with addition of Screamers and Flamers. You’ve got the cheeky Heralds with their 5 wounds each and 4+ inv who can split fire. Flamers and Screamers do their things. Plaguebearers sit back and hold objectives (small units) while the bigger units just get into someones face and tackle basic troops. The Grinders blast troops on the ground (who don’t stand much chance with the AP3 large blast) and tear up vehicles and tough infantry with ease.
