Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Kinky Fire Dogs’ – 2,000 points

Army Lists: Chaos Daemons ‘Kinky Fire Dogs’ – 2,000 points

Not written an army list for a bit (though have been working on Eldar lists), thought I would have a crack at Chaos Daemons as a few dudes as my local club have started Chaos Daemons and they have spurred me on. Chaos Daemons ‘Kinky Fire Dogs’ – 2,000 points HQ Keeper of Secrets – mastery level 3 & 2 x greater rewards Keeper of Secrets – mastery level 3 & 2 x greater rewards Troops 10 x Pink Horrors 10 x Pink Horrors 10 x Pink Horrors 10 x Pink Horrors Fast Attack 11 x Flesh Hounds 11 x Flesh Hounds Heavy Support Daemon Prince – daemon of slaanesh, warp forged armour, daemonic flight & 2 x greater rewards Daemon Prince – daemon of slaanesh, warp forged armour, daemonic flight & 2 x greater rewards Daemon Prince – daemon of slaanesh, warp forged armour, daemonic flight & 2 x greater rewards Total: 1,997 Sorry about the silly ass list name, couldn’t think of anything good. Yeah, I know, I suck at finding cool names. I do not like horde armies and prefer fast moving shooty armies which are either elite i.e Ravenwing, mech such as Dark Eldar or big ass monsters. Tyranids can knock out many o big monster, but I am not interested in them and found a liking for Chaos Daemons a year ago. Now I know KoS (Keeper of Secrets) aren’t awesome, but with some good luck (luck isn’t a valid tactic, but it is what Chaos Daemons codex goes on as everything is random) the Keepers should get invisibility power (gives stealth and shrouding) on the telepathy psychic power table. Hopefully some good greater rewards will do too such as 4+ feel no pain and 3+ armour save, the extra wound gift will be handy too. The Horrors are there just to camp on objectives and lay down some covering fire.

E-Mail: CSM & CD army list questions (flying circus and stuff)‏

E-Mail: CSM & CD army list questions (flying circus and stuff)‏

Hey mark! hows it hanging? For the past couple of days, there is an urge inside me to create a flying circus list with Daemons with chaos allies. Ive just been curious. Ive always played either with alot of troops or just enough to get me by, so i thought id mix it up a bit and play with lots of the big stuff! so heres the list: (the list is 1850, and i know how much you hate 1850 :P) HQ: Bloodthirster: 290 – 2 greater Keeper of Secrets: 245 -greater & exalted (portal), ML2 (telepathy) CSM DP: 315 – Tzeentch, Mace, Armour, Wings, ML2 (1 tzeentch [cause i have to] & biomancy)

First Impressions of the New Eldar Codex

First Impressions of the New Eldar Codex

Games Workshop seem intent on releasing a new book a month at the moment. With the last one being High Elves it’s still only been a couple of months since the Tau book hit. Perhaps that’s why I’ve only come away from my FLGS with the book (and some psychic cards). Don’t get me wrong, all of the new models are pretty stunning, it’s just with Tau still warm from the presses I just can’t justify a new army at the moment. My plan then is to get a feel for the codex by writing my usual unit reviews and hopefully target my purchases on things I’ll actually use on the table top instead of what looks cool. I’m also planning on sorting through my existing collection and getting a lot of stuff up on eBay to try and fund the Eldar project. This is all fine in theory but I’m sure I’ll end up caving at some point and buying one of everything! Anyway, onto the new book. First things first, as with all of the new books so far it’s beautifully made. I’ve almost totally forgotten that these books used to be £20 as the quality of these hardback versions is stunning. Granted the summary pages are still in danger of getting bent but otherwise I can’t fault their looks.

Ebay pro painted prices – what the?

Ebay pro painted prices – what the?

I was on Ebay looking for Emperor’s Children bits when I cam across these ace Kromlech shoulder guards: These shoulder guards are only £6 for 10; bargain. Kromlech also do some E.C helmets too – I have made a swift purchase of both of them. I then came across the top pro painted image; a Heldrake, unit of Warp Talons and Raptors, which both the latter are in units of 5. Excellent paint job I'll add, really makes them stand out, but what really did stand out was the price – £650.00! Here's the eBay link if you do not believe me:

VL Vets ready for painting

VL Vets ready for painting

I have a confession to make, I put the first five Victoria Lamb Rangers together way too quickly. I suppose it was because they were a present and I was excited to put together my first multipart metal models. I put them together and primed them that quickly that I really dropped the ball with them. I didn’t think about the unit composition, I didn’t clean up the mold lines, I didn’t fill any of the gaps with green stuff. Hell, I even forgot to put gravel on their bases! So, once my over

New Tau Codex Unit Reviews – Vespid, Drone Squadrons and Piranhas

New Tau Codex Unit Reviews – Vespid, Drone Squadrons and Piranhas

I’ve already talked about the new flyers and the revamped Pathfinders. Therefore I’ve got three more units to cover to complete my review of the Fast Attack section. This is a pretty bloated section of the book but most people will be looking at Pathfinders over the rest I reckon. Anyway, here’s my thoughts on the comparative underdogs of the Fast Attack slot. Vespid Stingwings I don't think I've ever seen these models in the flesh as no-one ever takes them and I never bought any. If these guys were Troops then I think we'd see them more thanks to their mobility and AP3 weapons but as a Fast Attack choice they'll nearly always lose out. At 18pts a piece they stand out as being expensive in this book. For that you get a fairly decent statline though. They may be BS/WS 3 but with T4 and I6 they aren't totally useless. They're almost a combat unit with Fleet and Hit & Run but with only a single attack each I wouldn't get too excited
