Spent enough time painting tanks and other big things recently, so it was time to spend some time on the infantry! I have to admit, I’m getting tired of painting blue and yellow so it’s about time to move on to something new but before that happens the unit of Guardian Defenders got a lashing of paint! Pretty straightforward – I went with the same blue recipe used on the vehicles, but rather than sponging the various blues, I went with a mix of drybrushing and stippling with an old brush. The blue wash then tied it all together and muted it a bit. I knew I didn’t want to go crazy with the yellow, so just the helmets and a couple bits of cloth got the hot orange/golden yellow treatment. Once that was done, the weapons got the bone color, and then I went in and painted the umpteen zillion little tiny gems. Probably could have gotten away without that step, but since there’s just going to be the one unit of guardians they deserved a little extra work. Overall, a right serviceable unit who will likely hang back and sit on an objective (and get carved into ribbons by whatever looks at them funny). Next up? Who knows?

It has been in the high 90’s (35+C) over the last week, which means it’s been just brutally hot up in the hobby loft. Had a bit a reprieve though and I took advantage to finish off the painting portion of the Eldar transports.

Big? – Certainly Beautiful? Well it is said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder…. Every hordes warband needs a warlock, and mine is no exception; however I was not keen on going for the conventional choices. I wanted something a little different. So once I saw the model of Dominar Rasheth I fell in love. What is lot to love about a chap, too fat to walk; carried into battle on a crib supported by three six-legged baby elephants! Our fat little lord is resting on his back; but only because he really is too fat to move himself. Does he care? Not one jot, why he has napkins, wine and even a small plate of delicacies to eat.

VS As Snake-Eyes and I have been learning the game of Malifaux, we have been sticking with the same masters for most games (I have dabbled with Kirai a wee bit) as we have been trying to learn the game. However, we have gotten to the point that we are now expanding out to other Masters; this is also because we now have other crews that are now painted. As such, this will probably be the last Marcus vs. Collodi game for a while. I know that many of you are probably glad about this as we have probably bored you to tears with our repeated battles between our first two masters. However, if you will

I have a little zombie collection for my Vampire Counts army, but I thought that they could do with a little addition from the Bretonnian army… I took some Bretonnian peasant bowmen and added some basic zombie bits. The conversion was very very simple, but keeps the same zombie look as the remainder of my zombie horde . To help them all appear as a single horde I have kept with the same three basic colours as the other zombies. These are green, brown and cream. I hope they look OK.

Obi and I decided to throw down in a battle for supremacy at the Snake Pit. This is the first in a set of two battles where we fight with the same 1250pt armies; first, on a 4×4 board and the second, on a full 6×4. Mainly just to see how the two different size boards affect the game-play. Without giving it away, this battle went exactly how you think it should… If you saw the last battle between Obi & I, you will see that Nurgle is a MUCH better
