Ok, for some reason I just thought I'd post this up and see how it went. It's very simple, one person creates a scenario in which go set the story and then starts by saying "the good news is....." And gives some good news in the story, which is then counteracted by the next poster, who will say "the bad news is...." And give something bad which would nullify the good news. The next poster must find some good news to overcome the bad news, and so forth.
So, the scenario is that you are a guardsman in a regiment sent to reclaim a strategically important world from the orks which infest it. The good news is your section has drawn non-combatant duties got the first month.

The bad news is that your commander has decided to transfer you to a regiment that has front line duty and no tanks.
p.s nice idea! have some rep!
March 7th, 2012, 00:03
The good news is the Orks are attacking in another sector of the front.
March 7th, 2012, 09:38
The bad news is that you are sent to negotiate with the greenskins.
March 7th, 2012, 11:23
The good news is that some uppity Commissar has been attached to your platoon to take over negotiations.
March 7th, 2012, 16:45
The bad news is that he decides to take your squad as his honour guard
March 8th, 2012, 17:33
The good news is you've caught a dose from that barmaid on your last R&R, and are sent to the field hospital in the rear.
March 8th, 2012, 17:36
The bad news is that a homocidal psychopath is lying in the bed next to you. And he said he hated you.
March 8th, 2012, 22:36
The good news is that the homicidal psychopath is on life support and unable to move without instantly dying as his nervous system overloads.
March 8th, 2012, 23:13
The bad news is that your doctor is Sergeant Gregory House and he wants to do a brain biopsy with a wooden stick, just to be sure it's functioning properly.
